I am feeling very overwhelmed and under prepared and like I know nothing. I'm still figuring out breastfeeding, and enjoying it, but I know nothing about weaning. At all. What do they eat, how much, when, does this mean they sleep less or more during the day, the questions are endless. I feel as though I have no time to read about it. There was so much prep and courses that went into the birth and breastfeeding but no professionals have given any info on this. I know he's too young bow to wean but I'd like to do some reading. Any suggestions for books? Thanks xx

In some areas the health visitors run weaning info sessions for groups of mummies, mine didnt but the next one across did. My hv just pointed me to the "birth to 5" NHS book you should have gotten from hv at first visit but personally I didnt find it very helpful.
Do you go to any baby groups? I got most of my info from other mums who were either just ahead of me or at the same stage. Dont stress too much, G wasnt even interested in one bite until he was 5 and a half months. Also you just start small with tiny bits of baby rice/porridge or stewed fruit and let baby lead you.
Hope that helps a bit.

I have an Annabel Karmel book which is very useful. It has loads of recipes for various purees and tells you which food and when etc. I have been reading bits and bobs from it as Lucas is 4 months today so within the next 2 months he will be weaning so i need to be prepared. However that is for traditional weaning. There is also baby led weaning where it skips out the purees and goes straight to finger foods and the baby feeding themselves. There are a few websites about it if you search it in google. I want to try and combine the two somehow. xx
