Hi all. Well so far things going ok feeling ok now just tired. My main concern though is i joined slimming world 3 weeks ago as I am a size 16/18. Lost half a stine so far. I Really wanted to get fit for having a baby. I'm nearly 5 weeks and just starting to panic about my size. Will being this size mean they will single me out or anything will I be high risk. I really want to carry on my diet do you think they will let me? Xxx

U can continue slimming world but it's just the healthy eating but and u have to get ur midwife to sign a form. Also in bigger than u and they haven't said anything to me other than I'm high risk, they haven't been horrible or singled out xxxx

Hi and congratulations. Slimming World is really a healthy eating plan so I don't see why you shouldn't be able to carry on. I joined SW 2 weeks before I got my BFP and was speaking to my leader who said she had pregnant ladies continue with the plan throughout their pregnancy. Personally I decided to rejoin after LO is born but that's just my choice cos I want excuse not to diet lol

Thanks belle. It's only really dawned on me today how big (fingers crossed) I can get. Will let slimming world lady know tomorrow an will grab a form. Not got midwife apt til 8th dec so hopefully lose a few pounds before then. Thanks again x

Ha Butterfly don't blame you leaving but I can only imagine what I would be like without going. I need no excuse to eat and I am starving at the mo. xx

Just don't starve yourself and eat healthy and you will be ok hun x I'm a size 16 atm and I have gestational diabetes, I am not fused about my weight at the moment but I am determined to lose it once baby is born. I am high risk but only because of the diabetes, I have seen plenty of bigger women in my ante natel appointments and a few friends and they were fine and not high risk. I think its mega fattys (no offence) size 30 plus that are more of a concern. the midwife even said they are only worried if your bmi is over 30 x

I was size 18 before getting pregnant but quite tall (5ft 9). In fairness, I didn't put on any weight at all until this week (week 19) and then only 3lbs, so don't assume you'll get big straight away. My midwife says my weight is fine and if I'd wanted to I could have gone back to slimming world, but to be honest, I was so sick I ate lots less anyway, and now I get full very quickly so am definitely eating less than before. Your body will find a balance I'm sure! Just make it as healthy as you can (unlike me who only ate hula hoops for a fortnight when I was really really sick!!! lol).

Now im worried! Im 16/18. My BMI says Im obese. Im only 6 weeks so its not exactly baby weight gain!
I didn't realise you could do slimming world whilst preg. Will look into that!

was it over 30 hun? If its slightly over 25 they are not bothered. Mine is 26.7 or something my midwife isn't bothered x

well I'm 39, 5ft and 14st soooooooooooo got a lot against me !!!

I'm doing slimming world still well as bet I can while I feel sickly! I'm not not hugely over weight just a couple
Of stone however I have just lost nearly 3stone which I gained while pregnant with my daughter! I didn want to stop doing slimming world because I don't want to gain so much weight this time!

It isn't a diet it's just healthy eating and it's really easy to follow!

Yes its over 30 :-(
im going to look into slimming world i reckon!

If ur over 30 bmi all they say is ur at a higher risk of gestational diabetes and u may need consultant care. They don't single u out at all or make u feel bad about it, just want to do best for u and baby. Mine is over 30 and I'm not worried, think if it is over 35 ur risk increases some more. Xx

Hey girlies dont worry :) I am well over the 30 bmi some where in the early 40's I think - size 28 and I have not been singled out at all - if you are overweight I think any bmi over 30 means you are consultant lead- this means that because you are at a higher risk on gestational diabetes that your next apt after 20 week scan is with a consultant rather than a midwife - this is so they can take even more care of you and keep an eye on you so if any problems start to arise the consultant will know what to do to limit/ minamise any risk to you and baby- he/she is there to ensure your pregancy is complication free and deal quickly with any that arise

Before i got pregnant i lost 4 stone on SW although I stopped 6 weeks ago as he nausea, throwing up, dental problems, inner ear infections and total aversion to healthy food (go figure!) and i can see the weight gain on my face so I cant wait to (fingers crossed) start to feel better during the second trimester and get back on it.

SW is totally ok to do whilst pregnant and midwife has actively encouraged it and dr as it is a healthy eating diet and hopefully i will come out of this pregnancy slimmer than starting (after i actually lose the weight i am sure i have gained in the last 6 weeks!)

:) I hope that helps anyone XD

i started slimming world yesterday and its fine really.
However at the moment all I want to eat is fruit. i cant stomach big meals.

slimming world fab i lost over three stone on it but then got stuck got bored i think ....i really should look into getting back on track though... if you use red or green you used to have to have more healthy extras but with extra easy im not sure ...good luck girlys
