I don't want this to sound really selfish of me or anything, just wanted some advice...

I'm due 14th August...

The forum meet is on the 7th half an hour away from me in Birmingham, and Download Festival is in June (I think).

I know there is a family camping area at Download, but would it be sensible for me to go? (I'm the type that watches quietly from afar as opposed to one who pushes to the front and jumps like a loon). I know the only worry would be whether I get bumped or not...

Also, do you think going to the forum meet one week before due date would be pushing my luck? I would love to go, and there's the chance I would be fine, but should I take the risk at then having to travel half an hour in a taxi to my birth hospital in Nuneaton if I ended up in labour? (imagine me giving birth at the pregnancy forum meet-up LOL)... :rotfl:

Has anyone else been to a festival at 7 months pregnant before or anyone have any views? Need some advice! At what stage should I stay home and not risk going out?

If it were me i would be going to the download festival but making sure i took it easy and sat at the back on the hill.
I would love to go this year but LO is due the weekend before :?

Hi

I would say the festival is fine as long as you dont over do it.
The forum meet i would go if it was a week before my due date :D

It is only 1/2 hour away so you will be fine I would have thought.

I have my brothers wedding 2 weeks before my due date.... but it is a 4 hour drive away, on a good run! M25 and south coast traffic on a Friday in July...... I must be mad!

I was all set to go to glastonbury this year at 7 months pregnant. But now it looks like we can't go because we need to save more money. I was a little nervous about being uncomfortable there but totally willing to give it a go, take an airbed for the tent and if it all got too much just come home!
I reckon being half an hour away from your hospital is more than fine, and a good story for the forum if it happens!

I'd say you'd be fine Lekershell but make sure you bring a chair to sit on you will be very very uncomfortable sitting on the ground if your bump is big. As for the meet if this is your first baby the chances of it coming on time are slim so I'd say you'll be fine. A lot of people live more than half an hour from their hospital at the best of times so its not very far really. Go and enjoy yourself. I'd love to go I'm due 4 days after you but its too far for me I live near London.

Topbird as you have to travel 4 hours I'd check out the local hospitals near where the wedding is just in case and bring your hospital notes and bags

I'm going to my horse-riding club's annual camp, in a tent with 750kg horse in tow, at 7 months. I will have 2 helpers for the horse, and one of the other camp attendees is a midwife and one is a GP. One is a dairy farmer who says she can deliver a calf so I'll be fine with her around  . I'm taking a lightweight folding chair everywhere I go and am going to sit in the sunshine and have a lovely time. One of the camp attendees went to Horse of the Year Show with a lorry load of ponies at 8 and a 1/2 months - possibly going a bit too far!

In July I'm going to be planning to do my usual round of BBQs, balls and festivals, all within half an hours' drive of the hospital. I can't shut myself away from my friends for months on end, and I think if you are sensible and don't overdo it you'll be fine.

Have fun, and remember if it's not feeling like fun you don't have to go!
