OMG Im so angry!

Back in January i was in hospital for a month with acute pancreatitis. When i left i was told by the consultant that i was being put on a waiting list to have my gall bladder removed. But I was to go back for an appointment in 6 weeks time to see another consultant to make sure i was ok. I went back for this appointment, when i asked how long it would be before i had my op he said its a 4 month waiting list. I have already been waiting a month so i will have to wait another 3 months.I wasnt happy, but fine a waiting list is a waiting list.

Today after waiting the 4 months i rang up the hospital only to be told my name isnt even on the list. Im fuming! Basically ive been having gall stone attacks several times a week, been high on strong pain killers whilst trying to look after my baby and no one has actually done anything about it. Im at risk of developing pancreatitis again, which could kill me. Im going to see my GP about this tomorrow cuz this is disgusting.

Sorry for the long rant i just needed to vent my anger!

That's shocking!!! Typical hospitals!
If it's affecting your life it needs to be sorted! I hope they bump you up the list! It's not fair on you!

that is shocking!! I had to rush to A&E with pancreatitis back in jan too, they thought it was just gastro for ages untilt hey figured out i could have gallstones, i was kept in for afew days until the attack had gone and had the op 3 1/2 weeks later! so i have no idea why they arnt treating yours with as much urgency as they did mine hun, complain, demand they do it asap! pancreatitis is DANGEROUS and can be fatal :S

I had to wait at least 6 weeks for the swelling to go down after they discharged me from hospital. Cuz I had acute pancreatitis, it would have been more dangerous to operate on me soon after my attack. Im quite shocked that ive had to wait so long and then to be told, well actually your not on the list. im going to see my local Mp about this too. Cuz as you said Adele it is life threatening if you get it bad. At the time i was nearly admitted into intensive care. Im not having it, im so going to go mental.
