Think i'm getting varicose veins!
Was in the bath last night and noticed what looked like a rash on the tops of my thighs..when i looked closer its like lots of little red veins..
Anyone else got this?or know how to get rid of it/prevent it?
I'm prone to stretch marks too...got loads from growing very tall when younger...just waiting for them to appear :(
Am i ever going to look good in a bikini again! :)

arnt vericous veins blue!

I have loads on (.)'s lol, i dont think you can prevent them, they just appear, its a sign to say your blood is flowing more around your body i think..

If they are in your legs, keep an eye on them,

that's probably spider/thread veins, if not stretch marks and all of those usually fade (or at least get much less noticeable) again.

I've now got a huge, bumpy road map on the back of one of my thighs and I'm only 13 weeks!!!

I remember getting varicose veins on the tops of my thighs with my 2nd pregnancy and a varicele (in my groin  ) then too. Oh the joys! But I have to say that I've been able to wear bum-skimming mini-skirts in the last few years - between pregnancies 2 & 3, so even the awful varicose veins must fade again - they'd better fade again this time or I'm never showing my legs again - I'll have to get them tatooed or something drastic :D

with my previous 2 pregnancies, I was so lucky not to get a single stretch mark, and my stomach has been flat after those pregnancies till now, but I think I owe that to breastfeeding because I've never done any exercise. Breastfeeding is a miracle figure re-shaper  I'd recommend it to anyone.

Thankyou 'wendywandy' you have given me hope :D
I am planning to breast feed and am not much of an fitness freak myself...well not at all!

Oh the joys of pregnancy!

Signs and symptoms
Some people with varicose veins don't experience any discomfort from the condition. When painful signs and symptoms do occur, they may include:

An achy or heavy feeling in your legs, and burning, throbbing, muscle cramping and swelling in your lower legs. Prolonged sitting or standing tends to make your legs feel worse.
Itching around one or more of your veins.
Skin ulcers near your ankle, which represent a severe form of vascular disease and require immediate attention.
Varicose veins are dark purple or blue in color and may appear twisted and bulging — like cords. They commonly appear on the backs of the calves or on the inside of the leg. However, they can form anywhere on your legs, from your groin to your ankle.

Spider veins are similar to varicose veins, but they're smaller. Spider veins are found closer to the skin's surface and are often red or blue. They occur on the legs, but can also be found on the face. Spider veins vary in size and often look like a spider's web or a tree branch.
