OH MY GOD I FELT HER HEAD !!!

Hi all! just got back!

Well waited for 2 hours like you do, went in and she had a look up there and my cervix is closed :D apprently you can be engaged even as early as 28 weeks, she said that she must be more comfortable down there.

So nothing to worry about! Thank you for your concerns thats really sweet :D

As for me being shouted at earlier it was becuase I had a feel but I was worried about the pains I was getting :(

But everything is fine thank god ! :D

Glad all is well hunnie! Your cervix is fingertip open for the latter of you pregnancy but just be careful not to poke too much

Is it really?

Shoot, I had to use a pessary recently for stupid thrush. Thought the applicator went in a bit far. Farther than I have ever been able to even put a tampon in! Uh oh ...

Im sure its ok soozee there is no problem with using pessarys for thrush

I was getting a bit worried reading this thread!!!

Think its best you leave the poking about to the MW hun :rotfl:

ive re read this thread and its made me feel quite queasy :puke:

I had a go last night, sure theres no problem with being almost 39 weeks...couldn't feel anything, don't even think i could feel the cervix, couldn't get far enough up lol

Thanks budge

I have been told that I have a tilted cervix which is why its quite low.

My mum said she is the same and had a bit of trouble getting me out during labour so not really looking forward to that bit :?

my mother has the same thing tash. i was told i did with my first but ive had no trouble with the subsequent pregnancies.

:) Thats reasuring to know, thanks budge :D well the thing is she was made to lye on her back which proberly didnt help  I have been told that going on all fours is supposed to be great especialy if your cervix is tillted, is that how you birth?

no - i usually go all over the place at first

then i have always settled on a bed on my left hand side to birth the baby.
This time round ill be at home all being well and it will all be different. Im hoping to kneel on the floor with my upper body supported on the settee or dsomething.
On all fours is meant to be the best position tobe in for birth though. But ive never tried it. :)

I think even if you have a tilted cervix once you've got to fully dilated you'll be fine in which ever postition you like. :)

Thats great to know :D I hope I have a home birth too would be great to do what I liked and go with my body without intervention.

I hope you get your home birth Budge im sure it will an amazing experience for you :D

I tried this with Maddie but after an hour I got too knackered and had to go into a half seated position!! But hopefully it won't take as long with No 2 so I'm hoping to do the same again as it was a much more comfortable position for me...

I gave birth on all fours, it was so much more relaxed if you know what I mean, gravity helped take over when you pushed, I always used to end up on all fours leant back when I had bad period pains and this helped me cope ith the pains of labour aswell. Easy to grab the gas and air too if you have the back end of the bed raised up to hold onto.

When you have a retroverted (titled) uterus, pregnancy normally corrects it so after the first baby I don't think it goes back. I had a retroverted uterus before Damien (and coudn't get fitted for a coil, hence Damien arrived!) but I'm not sure if it is now or not. They haven't mentioned it this time. My mum is retroverted too, but hers kept going back to retroverted after me, my bro and my sister.

So my cervix could go to a normal position and then stay there? thats great :D

I am not having a water birth but do want to go in the bath as much as possible before my waters break. I just want to be as active as possible I can't keep still when I am in pain, and as this is a pain ive never experienced before I am sure I will be right figit  which ios one of the reasons I want to be at home so I can go were the fook I like :D
