Yeah yeah he can annoy me at times (as all OHs can) although I am much more tolerant now Imogen is here...(bigger fish to fry than moan about niggly things). Anyway....before you all get excited about my post title.... he has taken Imogen out for a walk for a while so I can have some space. This was totally out of the blue, I didn't ask or anything. He is such a gem!

As I am on holiday from work (teacher) I generally take responsibilty for LO unless pre-arranged with OH. He is on hols too but doing house stuff (decorating etc.) He does share tasks/routines a LOT and never refuses if I ask him to help out with something altho I always know if he's not keen and we will compromise).

Just needed to share.... I know a lot of gals on here have trouble getting their OH to do their share, but we are lucky in that my OH is around a lot (he is student, starting job in Nov) so we are making the most of our time with Imogen and she has a secure attachment to both of us. It means we have been on a budget the last two years but we knew we wanted a baby where we could spend more time with bubba rather than working all hours for a better car/plush holiday (before anyone flips, I know some families HAVE to have mum and dad working just to live. We are lucky that although we are on one wage, it enables us to live, just not have luxuries). It just feels so nice to have space indoors, usually if I have any time to myself alone, it is shopping (food shopping) or doing tasks out (e.g. shopping for bubba, dropping things off/picking stuff up etc.) I really sympathise with those of you who would like more support from your OH and don't get it, as I don't know how I would cope without mine. We really do work as a team and are very considerate of each other.

I have LOADS to do today indoors (paperwork, sort spare room for mum staying tomorrow..might post another thread about this...) washing etc etc. but it's nice to be on PF without feeling guilty!

Wonder how long I can get away with being on here before getting my ar*e into gear and then miraculously sorting all jobs in half hour???? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Aw that's fab! He sounds lovely lovely!

I do sometimes resent the fact that most of the baby jobs are mine due to the fact that I work part time (even at weekends) but actually my OH is quite good at times too. He's taken DD to music group and I have a free half hour (before him, DD and 2 dads and babies from our village come back here to watch the football on Setanta all afternoon ) so I'm about to log off and go and read my book! Me time - woo hoo!

Valentine Xxx

Ah hope you enjoyed your "me" time Valentine. Oh took Imogen out this afternoon for couple of hours too, so I went into town and managed to have a mooch about without feeling pressure of when LO needs a feed etc.

Yes our OHs know which buttons to press sometimes.

:cheer:

AAAAANND... I managed to sort a load of stuff for charity stuff and clear spare room a bit more. YAY!

Aw thats fab- enjoy your time..i reckon you could cram everything into 20 mins with that superfast superwoman power we all have in us somewhere!!! plus your a teacher so you have even more of that organization thing going on!! :D :D

Hi fran_23
Since I have had Imogen all my teacher like qualities have gone right out the window! :rotfl:

I strive to be organised but if I manage to get a wash on each day and remember to clean Imogen's teeth in the morning before going out, it's a good day!

Everyone talks of the Mummy brain syndrome and not being able to cope with many things like you did before LO and it's soooo true in my case. I even forget to write things down (to remind me) and later go Oh Sh*t I forgot to do that!

I have come to the conclusion that when I am moitvated and have the energy to do a job or two, I just do it, (if I can considering Imogen's needs), because other times I just can't be ar*ed. :shakehead:

yeh i deffo have mummy brain everyday I remember to do anything concerning Hayden but i forget stupid little things!!
It starts when your pregnant and just never leaves you!! lol
