I made my first purchase thismorning! I said I wouldn't buy anything until after my 20 week scan but it was too much of a bargain to miss out on!

£36 down to £10 !

There was only newborn in stock so I hope baby doesn't grow out of it too soon! One of the other ladies posted about the bargain and I couldn't resist an impulse buy!!

You should see the things I have already lol. I was in germany end of march and my best friend had a baby girl 1 year ago, so she gave me loads of stuff. So did my cousin lol. I have around 5 sleeping bags already. A moses basket at mine and one at my mums house ... its crazy. My sister can't wait to find out what it is so she can go shopping too. I doubt I be spending lots of money as oh and I have so many ppl that want to give us things. My guess is the only thing we get to buy is the pram

Thats a good idea. Shops always have BOGOF's and other specials. However nappies I found very cheap over amazon. 72 newborn pampers for 7 pounds... thats way cheaper then I've seen in shops so far.

Ooo that is super cheap!! My brother and his OH had a baby in Jan and they said they have lots of newborn nappies left over that they didn't use, so
I will have to see how many "lots" are haha! x

When are you due?

Official due date is 15th October, but I live in France where term is 41 weeks. So I think I'm going to have to have a due date and a PF date haha. Having to wait til June is excruciating. When are you due?

Fun, that's really exciting! You must be counting hours...

This is maybe tmi but I squeezed my nipple in the bath this morning and that's it! I'm a milk machine!!!!

Queenie with my first son I had sooooo many nappies and never thought I get through them all... I couldn't have been more wrong lol

Pip, I am due 5th of oct. Was originally 28th September but baby was a little smaller at last scan. Not too worried though as I believe it will come when it's ready...
I had my first one back in germany 10 years ago and everything is so different then here in the uk.
you get a scan every 4 weeks!!! I dream of that over here lol

Vampysgirl, I had my first in Scotland 8 years ago and I agree it's very different according to the country. I found it so much more relaxed in the UK... Does Germany still do so many scans? I thought they'd passed some kind of EU decision that there should be 2 compulsory ones. As a matter of fact how many scans do you get on the NHS?

Coach, it was only a tiiiiiiny amount but it came straight out. I really can't remember when I started making colostrum last time. All I know is I didn't have enough to feed a baby, but when my milk came in I could have fed quints quite happily

Pips, my best friend had a baby girl in sep 2012 and she had a scan every 4 weeks and from week 30 every 2 weeks.
On the nhs you have between 2-3 scans. But it can be more depending if you need more monitoring. I had 2 because baby was 0.1 mm too small so had to come back 12 days later. Now have to wait, like you, till june
What I like over here though is the midwife care, as I didnt know that from Germany. There everything is done by a gynecologist.
How is that in france?

I know someone here who's getting a scan every 4 weeks too, but she goes to her private gynaecologist. I find that mad, when I was in Scotland I only got the 12 week one...
I agree about the midwives. They're lovely and really good advice, and so are the health visitors later on. In France we generally see a gynaecologist, though it can also be a midwife. It depends where you live really. I'm seeing my gynae tomorrow. Luckily I really like him. Mind you, I'd better like him given where he's putting his hands tomo... Ugh

Pips, I am seeing my midwife on Thursday and we listen to heartbeat yay. But I will see someone on wed from ante natal clinic because of my 2 mc... no idea what will happen there though

Hey to everyone that's recently joined the October mummies I hope everyone's having a good weekend. I must admit I'm starting to actually feel pretty good. The nausea has pretty much subsided and because I've been eating healthily (baby's choice) I'm getting my energy back - thank god for tri 2!!

I just did my Facebook announcement as all close friends and family now know. Decided not to go traditional and post the scan pic so created this xxx

Feeling sad and emotional this evening

I have had to send my horse away for a few weeks to be exercised (because I can't do
it for obvious reasons lol) and then I will advertise him for sale... I say send away, he is still only just down the road and I can visit him whenever I want but i think it's because I know it's now the beginning of the end. I am used to being up with him every morning and evening and now suddenly I will have a lot more free time and maybe some lie ins!! Still sad tho x
