****October 2014 mummies****

It's strange as with my other 2 boys I had cravings pretty much from the start lol. This time it doesn't seem like it at all.. oh well, I suppose better that way then getting strange looks for eating random combinations :)
I have trouble eating as it is... lucky if I do one proper meal a day.

Oh Claire sorry to hear you still sick! My nausea eased off a bit but my evening are still crap. Only morning are full of energy and feeling well, later on in a day i am feeling under weather but I not sick. Xx

Even though I've only started eating proper meals I've still put on half a stone already :-( it must have been the picking on rubbish I've been eating for weeks.

Claire is half a stone a lot? I put 9 pounds since just before pregnancy and I thought is ok and not too much. Especially that we have quite a lot of water in us now. The fact that baby is only 150g is nothing is all in the waters to have baby secure :)

I am sure it depends on your weight before pregnancy but I was a little porky on the edge of 25-26 BMI.

:( hmpf I cant do pound and ounces lol... is half a stone much?

Anyway girlies I am off now. Need to get organised as seeing the mw at 12.10. Hope you all have a lovely day and I will, speak to you all later
 aftef I spend all our money on baby stuff hehe

1stone is around 6,5kg.
1pound is just over 0,5kg

So I put 4kg already and I am 16 weeks

I am originally from Poland but I had to get my had sort of around as my oh speaks only pounds and stones ;)

Yes and it looks like I have put it all in my ass. Lol. Saying that I went a bit mad over Easter and I'm eating more sweet stuff than I used too. And I couldn't cook anything for 7 weeks , the thought of preparing any food made me sick, so for those weeks we lived off shit. I'm making a cottage pie for tea so at least now I'm getting better food in me. :-)

Vampysgirl- hope today goes well xxxx

My bmi was 27 so I just got in the overweight bracket :-(

Thanks kat. I always struggle with it. Even I live over here since over 10 years now lol

Just found this article
The UK doesn't give guidance on what a healthy weight gain should be during pregnancy.

US guidelines suggest that healthy women with a body mass index (BMI) 18.5-24.9 should gain 11.5-16 kg (25-35 pounds) during pregnancy.

Overweight women with a BMI 25-29.9 should gain 7-11.5 kg (15-25 pounds)
.
Obese women with a BMI greater than 30 should only put on 5-9 kg (11-20 pounds).

Where does the extra weight go during pregnancy?

Every woman's pregnancy is different, but the weight (approximate) gained can often be attributed to:

Baby 3.4 kg (7.5 lbs)

Placenta 0.68 kg (1.5 lbs)

Amniotic fluid 0.9 kg (2 lbs)

Breasts 0.9 kg (2 lbs)

Blood supply 1.36 kg (3 lbs)

Fat & protein 3.1 kilos (7 lbs)

Womb 0.9 kg (2 lbs)

Retained water 1.8 kilos (4 lbs)

I know it is US guide but I think it is pretty reasonable

My my haven't you girls been very chatty this morning!! Lol!

Welcome Sofia :)

Claire Louise I have my heart set on the oyster!! I love it and looks so easy to use but I haven't taken one for a test drive just yet lol.

As for the girly bag... I'm going to have a nice bag for me and a plain one for DH to save any embarrassment lol!

Good luck to everyone who has their appointments today! So jealous of people with the 16week appointments who get to hear the heartbeat! I'm 18weeks today and haven't been seen since 12 week scan so no listening to the heartbeat for me :( x

CoachQueenie how come you didn't have you 16weeks app? Anyway another 2 weeks and you should see your bubba again xx

Coachqueenie, I had a play with the oyster last weekend at kiddicare. I was impressed, it was in lime green and my OH said we are not having that pushchair that colours horrible, I said that's OK and showed him the grey pack that I want so it seemed to have shut him up. Lol

At the antennal classes you are told how much weight you should gain and how much is made up of baby, fluid, boobs etx. Midwife normally passed round examples of weights- like a little bottle of fluid to represent the amniotic fluid etc.

She told us that 2 stone is about the Max you should gain. X

Midwife called me back and said she will see me this afternoon at a different clinic.I am so grateful that she has managed to squeeze me in.Fingers crossed all is well and it was just me being silly! X

That's what I've been told too. Last time I was pregnant (check out sign up date) I put on over 30 kgs (4.5 stone?) and it wasn't a problem. I really hope I don't put on that much this time round. I've already put on 4kgs.

Daisy, FX and let us know.

I think last time I gained 2 stone exactly. Lost a stone immediately. Then half a stone came off over the months. I ended up being 6lb heavy pre pregnancy, but I was a little underweight anyways so not an issue.

I think to date I have out on 4lb and look a lot bigger than I did with my first at this stage!

The "I'm expecting" app has a weight gain racket and shows you how much you should gain each week and tracks it for you if anyone is interested.

Most important thing to do is just eat healthily and enjoy your pregnancy. Don't get concerned with weight gain!x
