oh u are so luckky, my midwife tried to hear my babys heart beat but couldn't as she said i was too early (last week) i was a bit disapointed but nvm hopefully my mums can get/borrow the doppler from work for me next week (she is a nurse practisioner and a midwife but isn't practising it right now)

wow thats early hun how lovely for you  xxxxxxxxx

Are u sure your not further on hun thats seems really early to get the heart beat, they couldnt pick mine up at the hospital at 8 week

Detecting a Heartbeat
The baby's heart beat can be seen on an ultrasound at around 7 weeks, and if you are very slim MAY be heard on a doppler from 9 or 10 weeks.

Here is more advice and input:

Most Heartbeats can be heard by 15/16 weeks.

Hey that is great!! You must have the same doppler as Charlotteheys! I remember she heard her babs about 9 weeks!!
I want one now! I knew i should have gotten one lol!

mary i have had weekly scans i am deff 9 weeks tomorrow the doppler i have is hi bebe, i think 15/16 is quite late to first hear the heart beat i supose it does depend on the doppler used, the position of the placenta and the womb and how much extra fat you have on your tum, i have always been a size 8-10 although from day one of getting a bfp my belly has gone huge. with my pregnancy last year i was about 10+ weeks when i first tried to find heart beat and got it.
baby&i im not sure what mhz it is i will have a look

after i get the girls to bed i am going to try and find it again for dh i will try and record it not sure if i can put a recording on here  does anyone know if i can do it with photobucket? or is that just for pics?

thats not my opinion it was from nhs web site

Oh I'm soooo jealous now lol I've had my doppler for two weeks and can only hear my heartbeat... My sonographer said that I prob won't hear anything for a few weeks as I've got a lot of tummy for the sound to get through!

I got my doppler on Tuesday so would have been 10 weeks then and heard the baby's heartbeat - and it was nice and strong! Took a bit of fiddling and then I started to panic but I'm getting better at finding it now and played it to DH and even my parents!

Girls, you should all get one! (p.s. I got an Angelsounds one from eBay)

mine is a super sensative 3mhz from ebay its shipped from hongkong and its one of the best you can get with the LCD display and stuff. im so exited to receive it it should be here tomoro morn :D i was going to get one of the angelsounds but was pretty set on a LCD i got a great price for it! ;)

babydust hun just thought id mention as its loads cheaper and worked better for us when i was expecting christopher we used a cheap version of ky jelly which we bought in asda rather than have to keep buying the proper gel xxxxxxxxx
