My daughter who is 4 on thursday just spat. i cannot believe it. She has never done this and no one in our home does it. Me or my hubby dont spit, there is some slight good in my hubby then. Well she just sat near me and spat on my arm.

But she actually made an effort in getting it out, not like a dribble.

Im so angry. I find spitting is filthy really and cant believe that my girl is doing it. I know its only once and at the moment she is sat crying on the naughty step but i just feel like taking all her bday pressies back and making her have nothing lol

Omg am i just being too hormonal? Im now thinking where has she picked this up from. The only place i can think of is school

Oh hun don't blame yourself about this, I posted a whila ago because my son bit his Dad... you could ask at her school but they will say she has not got it from from there and then you'll feel bad about that too. I did. :(
She could have seen someone on the street do it or anything, as long as you tell her how wrong it is she'll not do it again. The naughty step is wonderful, isn't it? Althought we should have a feel good step for us...

Honestly though, do not beat yourself up over this. I bet she never did it to be bad....just to see how you'd react

lmao midna aww i really wanted to give her coal for her bday hehe.

I love the naughty step but its a nightmare when i have to put both my daughters on one at the same time lol. I usually stick youngest in corner and eldest on step.

She has been sat in silence on the sofa ever since she came in from the step lol. I asked her why she did it she said she wanted it to go on her knee.
Omg why are kiddies so strange lol. I asked her if she has seen anyone at school do it she said no, oh well i dont think she will do it again in a rush :rotfl:

i'd have felt just like you - i can't stand spitting... but it sounds like she's learnt her lesson.

It sounds like she hopefully wont be doing it again any time soon! i looked after a 3 year old for the last year and he used to spit on his hand and wipe it on the car window!!! :x

 little pip, I would of given him a cloth and made him clean it up lol. Maybe im just too mean hehe :rotfl:

I used to be a childminder to 2 girls before i had my 2nd girl and they were a handful, I always wondered why they were like this till i had girls of my own at that age then i just had to realise that all kids are like that lol

But i would never ask for different girls, Mine are good kids really just have their moments, :D

My friends son spat so she washed his mouth out with soap and water!!!! He's never done it since!!

yeah 2 boys was a haaaandfulll! hard work they were!

my nephew when through a phase of spitting and we used to put a little bit of brown sauce or mustard in his mouth, soon stopped him!

They pick it up from school... I've caught Tia spitting (around 4/6 years)... usually out in the street on the floor... and I KNOW she gets that from school cos I see all manner of kids and parents doing it in the school playground in the morning...Its a Spanish thing... Note I say caught because even though she's not done it maliciously and it was on the ground I find the habit absolutely disgusting and it makes me feel physically sick when I see people in the street doing it.... I blew up at Tia and she's never done it again in front of me and that's all I ask....obviously for us it has some cultural standing too so I know she probably still does it at school just so she fits in..

She did go through an age of actually spitting at people, mainly my DH...We got this sorted too... She got told off and sent to her room every time she did it, and then we got an actual reason why she was doing it...it had to do with her Dad not calling her... But she didn't do it more than a few times... I don't think you over reacted, its something that good parents have to teach is unacceptable behaviour amongst adults... the same as biting...It is a phase, but if you let it slide all you do is teach them that its an OK behaviour...and its not.

lmao midna you are going to have a naughty step for your partner hehe :rotfl: I dont think putting a 1 week old baby on naughty step will work either :rotfl: Just put the bouncer chair in hall and tell baby it can come in when it is behaving better :rotfl:

Squig you got a naughty step at home? ? :rotfl: I think Im gonna have a naughty step but I will have to stay away coz everytime I look Ill just laugh. :D

No no no Midna, good parenting comes from learning how to be just the right amount of Lazy... I've managed to train my sprog to take herself to her bedroom when she's been told off... she doesn't even just go and play with her toys.... She sobs on her bed, has a think then comes out and says sorry :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm telling you this mummy has got things down to a fine art where mental torture is concerned... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

For a while I did receive "no mummy" letters (it says No, Mummy with a big no smoking symbol across my name) but she grew out of that... it was funny ... :rotfl: :rotfl: I think that's why she gave up

omg sguig i honestly remember drawing on of them about my mum when i was a dinky kid :rotfl: I cant believe i remember drawing that.

Omg i wonder how i will feel when or if my kiddies draw one of them for me lol
