O Question....questions in general!

Right this is long and strange but bear with me as i need your advice.

Ok so i am currently on the pill however last month haf way through my pack i had a 4 day bleed..no idea why. However i just ignored this an moved on (only been on the Pill since March). I then later had my regular scheduled AF....however this seemed to be a AF, AF not a withdrawel! Its was so painful and heavy etc-sory tmi!

Anyway i finished my AF Tuesday, BD wenesday but seem to be ovulating today!

Questions are.....

Is it possible to ovulate straight after your AF?
Why do you think i am ovulating at all, as i am on the pill!
And is there a chance i could get preggers now!?-well obviously not now now, but i hope you know what i mean!

I a person that will take things as they some, but it would scare the crap out of me if in a months time i find out im preggers.

To add, my mother got pregnant with me and she was on th Pill!!!!!!!!

Anyone else seem to find tha a lot of their friends are becomming pregnant even on the pill? I have a few!! The Pill is starting to scare me!

Sorry for all this but i am a bit nervous and very confused!!!

There are 2 hormones used in the contraceptive pill.
Between them, the two hormones stop you from getting pregnant. The main way in which they do this is by stopping your ovaries from releasing an egg (ovulating) each month. The hormones also protect you against pregnancy by thickening the mucus in your cervix - so that sperms can't easily swim through it.
making the lining of your womb thinner - so that it's less 'receptive' to an egg.

So its unusual to get pregnant whilst taking the pill for the above reasons, although as we all know some people are included in the 1% that do get pregnant.

I believe its much more common to get pregnant on the pill if you sometimes forget to take them, or always taking them at different times of the day etc.

I would be very surprised if you are pregnant now.........many ladies on here have not taken the pill for weeks (some months) and are still not pregnant, its not as easy as people think to fall pregnant!

So when your on the pill you don't ovulate? does that mean that those ladies will have more eggs then the people who use condoms etc?

well i was on the pill, i missed a weekend and wam bang James was concieved, however the pill if taking properly on time etc... is very effective it's when you get sloppy like i did that weekend that it doesn't work and when you have antibiotics you need to use extra protection oh and same goes for drinking

That's interesting, I didn't know drinking affected it.

Looking back it's amazing I didn't get pregnant in my early 20's, often forgetting to take the pill on time, sometimes forgetting it altogether and the amount I drank back then!

Hopefully if I have a daughter I'll manage to teach her to look after herself better.
