Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place....

Was just wondering what people are paying on average for nurseries?

Most of the ones near us seem to charge about £25 for a half day - is that about what everyone else is paying?

The ones around here cost £18 for a half day.

Are you going to go back to work full time hun?

Kim x x x x

I'm going back full time (ish - going to try and have one day per week off, but perhaps work a slightly longer day to make up some of those hours on another day)

BUT because Andy works nights - we've worked out we only need half days at nursery as he can sleep in the morning then have baby at home in the afternoons. Plus he has one day off per week during the week so we'd all in all only need 3 half days at nursery per week.

Sorry - that was a bit waffly.....

Hmmm - it's seeming like a fairly standard cost then. Damn.

the nursery here where i work is £18 for a half day

The one Amber goes to is £22 for half a day but I don't pay anymore as now she's old enough to be entitled to so many hours p/week free pre-school education!

£22 per half day and £32 per full day at Evie's nursery

have you thought about a private childmnder? My friend is one and she only charges£3.20 an hour, if Im working it out right thats a lot cheaper then a nursery?

about £25 half day here as well - sometimes its not worth working :wall:

childminders are cheaper if you can find 1

Way more than the one near us charges for a half day.

I think a lot of it is location based tbh.

I was paying £44 a day nr Wokingham (and this is the discounted price because we are full time), before we moved we are now paying equivalent to about £32 a day just into Dorset. Again full time with discounts due to that. NB I also have to pay when they are not there, banks holidays, your holidays, nursery shutdowns etc.

Ours seems quite cheap then  We pay £16 for a short day, which is from 9.30 to 3.30 x
