I'm getting Tom boy his first passport and am a bit confused about the details I need. Basically, do I need to put father's name on? He is not from this country and is not resident - hasn't seen the baby for three weeks and hasn't given me any money and probably won't. However, he is on the birth certificate, as when he was here in the first weeks managed to put the rose tinted glasses back on me and I believed he would stick around.

Has anyone else come up against this, i'd rather not put father on the passport, not only because he's not stepping up, but because i'm scared he's going to try and take him away from me, when he feels some kind of responsibility in the future  but there is a section where it says father's details.

Thanks

You dont have to put fathers details on as far i know, ı never have done as my husband isnt resident in the uk either. Ask at the post office check and send service to be sure.

If you arent married then no you dont. So long as you are a british citizen then it doesnt matter x

They made me put the details on but I read the forms over and over and I dont think you do. I think I just encountered a knobend of a post office worker.

Alannas dad aint on the birth certificate so i didnt have to put it on the passport info, so i dont think you NEED the dads info, but call and check hun
