Hi everyone!

My OH and I have been TTC since April (I have a son from a previous relationship and he is 8 now. I used the implant for contraception since he was 6months old right up until April).

Have had 5 real cycles since I had the implant removed - but have never done OV testing etc. AF was 7th/10th/11th/13th/15th and lasted between 3 and 4 days each time.

This month however there's been nothing at all so far! Been trying not to get excited and have held off doing a PT just so I don't get disappointed 🙈

There's a large age gap between my partner and I (I'm 26 and he's 51), he has 2 grown up girls of his own but suffered a serious groinal injury a few years back whilst MMA training and Drs at the time told him it may have some impact on his fertility but at that point he never saw himself having any more children so never got it checked either way. Then we met not long after and both of us decided that it would be amazing if we could have a child together which is why this means so much and I'm being a wuss about testing as I know we will both be devastated if it's negative (haven't tested in previous months as I've just waited for AF!)

I will stop rambling now but good to have somewhere to offload

I had the implant in for 4.5 years and it mucked my cycles right up.

It took a year for it to fully leave my body, me to drop weight. We were NTNP for that year and nothing happened. After the year I fell pregnant.

I found my natural cervical mucus never returned either until after I had Jackson.

I hope you get your BFP soon, although please be aware your cycles can be irregular and messed up from 6mon min to 1 year max.

I don't really know what my cycle should be to be honest as I was on the pill from aged 14 and got pregnant aged 17 with my son whilst on it. So AF wasn't "natural" as such. Then obviously nothing whilst carrying my little boy, breast fed him for 2 years and had nothing during that time - also had implant fitted when he was 6 months and never bled once in the whole 7 years I used it!
But the month after I had it removed AF arrived (I forgot what a hassle it is to have a visit each month haha!!)

Should really OV test if this month turns out to be my body playing tricks on me but know I would start obsessing more than I do now and don't really want the stress of that tbh.

I've been starving hungry, tired, hot/cold flushes, tum ache, increased CM, tetchy and just generally feeling unlike myself...which I'm not sure if are actual signs or phantom signs haha. Buying test today and will do it in the morning to put my mind at rest either way
