need breastfeeding help

ive been breastfeeding ever since lo was born, occasional bottle here and there if we're out etc. but now that J sleeps about 10pm-6/7am (if im lucky) im waking up around 3 with boobs that are rock hard and leaking like crazy, im not sure what to do, i usualy just manually express a little to comfort and go back to sleep, i was wandering with mums that have been in similar situations, should i just wake up at that time and pump milk and put that in the fridge for later? or go back to sleep, im worried my supply will be affected. please help!!

wow what great sleeping LO is doing. Hope it continues. Im not sure as I never had this problem, O was feeding every 2/3 hours for a good few months.

It must be a pain really when baby is sleeping but your boobs havnt adjusted yet. I would say give it a few weeks but dont express in the middle of the night or your body will get used to that?

But tbh I really dont know and I'm sure someone like Ray of Light or other experienced bfers will have some good advise for you xx

^^^^ WSS try not to express, it will settle down in a few days. I don't get engorged at all now after nearly 11 months feeding xx

I would say if you are waking due to them being full then keep expressing just the top off to relieve and also so you don't get any blockages, but literally just express enough off for comfort.

Your body will soon adjust to LOs feeding pattern xxx

My LO slept like yours from about 6 wks when I was breast feeding and I experienced similar, I just wore lots of breast pads (often changing if I woke to go to the toilet in the night!) after a while my body seemed to adjust and I wasn't as engorged.

Don't think that it affected my supply as I continued to feed every 2 hrs during the day x

That's what I do, wakeup and change pads constantly.. even though he is sleeping mines is very broken :'(

I know u feel lucky with a baby that sleeps and you shouldn't complain but I felt that I didn't get any sleep as I seemed 2 get up all nite or check the LO constantly

will agree with spendalots..I actually kept expressing I was worried about my supply...and also bcz these lil monkeys change their needs so often specially when they have growth spurt and want extra feeds..

I'm up all night checking on him too, I'm super paranoid after watching eastenders LOL crazy I know.. but boobies have slightly calmed down last nite, not as rock hard.. but still leaking, I'm using ny pricey tommee tipee ones, they're the best pads ever
