My CM isnt sperm friendly...

Basically,
in my 4 cycles of trying i have never seen obvious egg white cm and this month i am on run up to ovulation and still have creamy cm.. what can i do? I have been taking 500mg evening primrose oil since start of this cycle yet this cycle is worst yet for not having fertile cm, i have had 2 positive opk tests in a row and still creamy cm and not watery yet.. (i seem to have long lh surges also, about 5 days of positive opks but last cycle i got watery cm thruout all opks this time its thick, lotion / creamy cm even with taking 500mg primerose oil for the first time). I havent yet ovulated and know this because i temp
Please help me and my bad body!! Also my cervix never seems to get soft or fully open more like medium open... Any advice be sooo appreciated..

Sorry I'm no expert and I'm sure that someone else will come in with some more advice but I didn't want to read and run.

Have you tried using some sperm friendly lubricant like preseed to help with the CM though?

I don't think you have to have EWCM to get pregnant. Good luck

We use preseed yeh.. just bugging me so much that my cm isnt complying again.. and infact worse this month.. i am going to up primerose oil to 1000mg

This may be wrong but it's what I believe, just because you can't see the cm doesn't mean it's not there.

When ttc#1 I was concerned I didn't have much cm, I tried EPO on the third cycle which left me with no obvious cm at all yet I conceived. I figured the cm must have just been higher up

Before ttc#2 we used condoms for a few months so I was hormone free, I kept an eye on my cm and had lots, tried the EPO on cycle 2 and the same thing happened, no cm but I conceived

Like you, I’ve never seen to have this obvious egg white cm that everyone and everywhere talks about. Eventually I did get pregnant - so it can happen, whether or not you see it.
(Sadly didn’t end well for me but I’m so sure that there is issues with me.)


Cervix checking isn’t really a great indicator for anything as it can change so much throughout the day. It could be making you stressed and maybe delay ovulation.

If you’ve only been trying 4months.. were you on the pill or anything before that? It can take time for our bodies to settle down after that.


Anyone I’ve spoken to about evening primrose oil + ttc have had no luck with it. I’ve tried the lowest recommended dose and worked all the way up to the highest. Never made any difference for me at all! I’ve read the min recommended is 1500mg so this also maybe why it didn’t work for you?

I think everyone's cervix is different to use it as an indicator you have to get used to what is normal for you. I have been pregnant 5 times. 2 of the times I remember ewcm, once it was watery. The other two times I noticed an increase in cm but it was all the wrong type, not at all EW so it doesn't always cause a problem. You can also use some type of sperms friendly gell if you are worried.

If it's any consolation both pregnancies for me came about with barely any ewcm! I even wondered if i was capable of producing it lol. Now, after both boys I seem to make loads, very odd! Try not to stress too much.what about preseed? X
