i am so so so annoyed.

Ami is always sick - i know this, you know this, god knows she knows this. well she stopped being sick about 4 days ago. everyone thought it was a miracle but i was a little more skeptical. anyway, i was putting the amounts of her tube feeds up and up and up on the 'failsafe' pump. it was telling me she had the full volume of the feed every time.

my instinct would not shut up, it was too good to be true so this morning i did a little experiment and put the tube in a bottle, turned on the machine and checked the volume it was ACTUALLY giving her. half an hour later, *beep beep beep* its finished and is telling me its given her 100ml. there was 70ml in the bottle.

i was upset. she hasnt gained weight for 4 weeks, just stayed the same. i thought i was giving her plenty of milk, turns out the machine has been underfeeding. i have 2 pumps, tried them both, called the pump people, got 2 more delivered, they are doing the same. the nurse on the phone said "in all the 9 years i have worked here, this has never happened" i think she thought i was stupid. i know everything about these stupid machines.

so im having to hang in with the pumps til monday when Ami's nurse and dieticain are working again. it must be something to do with the thickness of the milk (custard consistency) cos i tried it unthickened and it worked.

feel awful for my baby, she must have been wondering why mummy was rationing the nutriprem :(

Oh bless her, Its not your fault though hun! I hope you manage to get it sorted soon and Ami starts to gain weight again :)
