Im at my wits end. We have a drs appointment today but the past few days Joshua wont take a bottle. I have been combi feeding since 4 weeks hes now 12 weeks. The only way he will take a bottole is if I start off on the breast and trick him...but if he realises I ve had it. I dont understand why he would suddenly regress and also I do not want to exclusivly breast feed it wasnt for me. What the heck could it be please tell me Im not the only one this has happened too. Im hoping its illness related not that I want him to be ill but at least it would mean its probably just a phase. Ive heard of ebf babies not taking a bottle but not a combi fed one suddenly not taking it :eh:

I started off bfeeding D then at 8 weeks changed to bottle. We had tried to give him a bottle a day for a couple of weeks before changing and the odd bottle before that so a little bit different to what your doing. The first few bottles we gave were easy to give then he started to reject it. I had to get my OH to give the bottle and I left the room. The other thing we had to start doing was ensuring the bottle was slightly warmer than we would expect to give it as he is a fussy monkey and will now only take it if its a set temperature. Thats all I can suggest as thats what worked for us. x

What bottles do you use? My little guy willonly take tommy tipee ones, might help??

Hey hun, have answered your other thread also.

My son rejected bottles, I expressed, not alot, but he would take it from a bottle no problem. At 4 months I tried to stop BFing and he rejected bottles altogether.

It can happen. They can reject either bottle or breast, they just chose their preference.

I'm not sure what can be done, but I'm sure there would be a way around it. Either different bottle or something... sorry not much help lol
