Mums of 2 or more, had an episiotomy with first one

Ok, so this is a totally mad post i realise as i am not pregnant again yet, but we are hoping to start trying again soon, and i cant stop wondering what will happen this time around as i had an episiotomoy, will i need another one, could i tear where the scar is?

I know that it is totally random, but i wondered what experiences anyone else had, he wasnt a big boy, 7lb 8, but my muscles were so tight i couldnt push him out

With Mason I had an episiotomy
With Brody I had a 3rd degree tear
With Riley I had a very small tear.

I don't think I tore cos of the epi scar TBH, I tore cos I pushed him out in 1 push and the stoopid MW didn't tell me to slow down or anything.

For Riley's birth it was in my birth plan that I was worried about another bad tear and the MW was GREAT, when the time came she told me to listen to her and push very slowly.

When you have another baby I would note your concerns in a birth plan and make sure the MW knows you need telling to push slowly.
The tear I had with Riley, she told me that it was a lot less than I would have had if I'd have needed another epi. and it's healed fine, I didn;t even really know it was there.

I didn't have an episiotomy with my 1st but I did tear quite badly.
My 2nd and 3rd babies were a LOT bigger than my 1st and I didn't tear at all. Nothing

With Joseph I had an episiotomy AND tore
With Dillon I had a 2cd degree tear
With lucy I had a 2cd degree tear but WORSE than Dillons! (I lot more stitches)

Hiya

with my 1st i had a 2nd degree tear (he had a big head born at 38 weeks)

with my 2nd i didnt tear at all (born at 36 weeks she was tiny)

and hopefully i wont tear too badly with this one!!! (not born yet and im 39 weeks today but its a boy and my 1st was a boy with a big head )

maybe you could try perineal massage from abt 30 weeks??

Thanks everyone, seems pretty random then. I keep having a fear that i will tear along the scar as it is quite ragged still

I cant wait to be pregnant again and to booby feed again, but we are going to wait a bit longer as i have only just come back to work, good luck to those expecting again!

with Paris I had an episiotomy and with Harry I had a 2nd degree tear. Paris was 7.1 and Harry 7.4

Tia I had an episiotomy and 3 degree internal and external tears ...she was 8lb9oz

Serena I had a tiny 1st degree tear in my urethra...and she was 8lb14oz

Guess what hurt most yup the 1st degree tear
