firstly we went to get Leah weighed at the clinic and she's put 12oz on in less than a week!
then me and my mum went into town
Leah should have been due for a feed at 2.45pm but she started waking at 2.15pm and started going wild so we had to find a cafe quick!
went into a little cafe in the market and ordered a drink and started to feed leah.
as soon as we started feeding her, the owner and the other staff started to put their coats on and clear all the tables, turn lights off and pull the shutters down... and then stood behind the counter almost glaring at us to hurry up
WHY serve us if you are closing in 5 minutes??? then make us feel guilty and rushed cos were taking our time?
so we felt as if we had to leave our drinks and leave the cafe with Leah still starving
so we went outside and sat on a bench but leah wouldnt feed - dont know if it was because it was cold and windy so we had to think of somewhere else.
i remembered a cafe further up so we went into there... as soon as we entered, a waitress noticed leah and said to us, there is a nursing room in the back if you want to feed your baby in peace...
but we said no thanks we would be fine in the cafe
but we sat down and ordered a sandwich each... and the owner came over and said the same thing about the nursing room and that i should go and have a look
so i left my mum feeding leah and went to have a look... there was a room with 3 nursing rocking chairs in, with tables and menu's on... then further on there was a room with 2 changing stations in and a vending machine with sudocrem sachets in and then further on there was a little room with chairs in and toys, and in the middle was some baby weighing scales! so you can weigh baby when you feel like it and do it urself!
went back into the cafe and told my mum about it, and she said... lets go in!!!
so the waitresses were fussing around us, getting our drinks and pram and changing bag and taking it all through to the back for us into the nursing cafe
then they fetched our sandwiches and we had posh lunch on posh nursing chairs in our own little room with Leah sat on my mums knee
i had waitresses coming in to have a look at leah and saying how beautiful she is and they were such lovely lovely people who made us feel so welcome and did excellent (and cheap) food.
it was really lovely and quite shocking to find out we'd walked into a mummy's cafe!!
me and my mum have decided that were gonna go in there once a week and have lunch and make a day of it
my mum really enjoyed herself and after her sister dying yesterday it was a lovely day out she needed
just thought id share...... dont ask why lol
