Hi everyone, I'm 8 weeks now and have been feeling sick all the time for weeks now! Any solutions out there? I have found ginger and nibbling carbs helps. Any other great ideas girls? :cheer:

Ginger biscuits under your pillow and a nice lemony shower gel to get you going in the morning. I used Original Source :D

A bucket?? I suffered with it and it was consuming.

Hope you feel better soon.

Someone suggested to me to try flat lemonade.

Stay away from coffee completely my morning sickness has stayed away since I stopped drinking coffee.

Hi

I still think a bucket is the best plan. I had morning sickness really bad. I even chucked up twice whilst driving. No warning just wham!! It was quite something i was in slow traffic :talkhand:

So a bucket and a towel in the car is my advice, along with eating carbs every few hours.

You have to laugh :puke:

dry crackers and dry toast is what the experts say is good for morning sickness. I haven't tried it because I don't get morning sickness :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I'm finding that no matter how hungry I am or how much i want to eat I really have to eat small amounts regularly otherwise I feel awful !!

On my first pregnancy chewing gum worked a treat but it's only making me feel worse this time round, think I might try the ginger biscuits thing thou.

Ziplock plastic bags - once you've thrown up in them you can seal them and the smell of your own vomit won't set you off again. Also they are very easy to carry around with you - a bit less obtrusive than a bucket!

I read somewhere that morning sickness is caused by low blood sugar, so just anything that gives you a bit of a boost really. I travel on the train every day which is pretty sicky, but always find some haribo sweets / ginger biscuits / chocolate buttons (anything you can pick at) really helps.

I've had a lot of really bad feelings and wanted to throw up many times, but really find that eating anything sugary stops it. I also find that if it's the mornings when I feel ill then I probably didn't have a big enough dinner the night before. Little and often is the way. I even have smarties and chocolate buttons by the bed so I can just melt a couple in my mouth as I can't sleep when I feel sick.

Apparently I read somewhere that anything that takes away saliva from your mouth is a good thing too, so things like hard boiled sweets and lollys.

Hope that helps! Eating really does help, I luckily haven't thrown up yet and the eating actually gets rid of the sicky feelings.

Thanks girls! Very usefull ideas. I am addicted to Nairins ginger oat biscuits! They are great as really gingery and not too sweet. The tip i heard which has worked well is to nibble on something before sitting up in bed. Also that its got to do with the over production of saliva. So when it was really bad i was spitting it out instead of swallowing it. Disgusting but it works! I cant eat anything even vaguly fatty either without suffering after. All I want are carbs. Its all worth it when you look at wonderful images like the ones on the NOVA site. Good luck to all you parents to be!  :puke:
