Hello Ladies,

Hope you are all well?

Im just venting really and looking for suggestions for what i can do to calm my mood swings.

I am 13+6 (Jumping ahead a day and posting on second trimester!) and i have the worst mood swings ever! I am happy one minute and snapping the next over literally nothing! Yesterday for example my SO wanted to watch the UFC so after me clearly looking bored to tears for an hour he said that i can watch whatever i want on tele and he will watch it on his laptop. I went mad at him for even suggesting it and ended up just storming upstairs to calm down and ended up crying for half an hour because he tries to be so nice and i just throw it back in his face. He says that he understands that its my hormones and that it isnt forever but i just feel guilty all the time for it. He does nothing wrong but gets an ear full from me.

I am constantly irritated and ready to burst at the slightest thing and i dont like it at all and i think that thats making me more unhappy.

Do you have any suggestions at how i can calm down before i snap or can spend even a day without feeling so on edge. I havent had any other symptoms other than being a bit tired which stopped at 10 weeks and these moods have just come on in these last few weeks :wall2:

Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers xx

I can’t share any words of wisdom I’m afraid! I just wanted to let you know you’re not alone! I am happy one minute, snappy the next, in tears the next, it’s madness and I hate myself for being such an arsehole.

It’s going to be a loonng time till due date if this is going to continue. I feel your pain xx

35 weeks and at this point I'm accepting it. My mood swings are definitely worse second time around. No advice really I think for some women, or some pregnancies it's just one of those things. I've started trying to count to ten before I lose my shit. But sometimes it's just unavoidable. I don't think the heat helps me right now, it makes me so irritated. OH is understanding so that helps. Fx you start to feel better soon but for some of us the only cure is baby coming haha. Xx

I found myself ready to snap the other day so i just went for a walk. Only to the shop so was only out for 10-15 minutes but it made all the difference! I realised that i needed to calm down and cleared my head whilst out and then was in a good mood for the rest of the day. Hopefully that works for the rest of the moods haha! I know exactly how you feel though! I swear its as bad for me as it must be for my OH! He knows he has done nothing wrong whereas i feel instant guilt as soon as i snap!! Dont know how he puts up with it at all but he has been so supportive and just tells me that he understands that its my hormones and not just me.

I havent really tried counting to 10! Ill definitely give that a try next time i feel ready to go mad haha! I just try to get away from it before i lose it at the minute! Going for a quick walk helps me clear my head but i think that if it was pouring down itd probably make me more mad having to go outside in the rain haha! The heat will definitely not be helping! There is no escaping it either which just makes it worse!

xx

I have a four year old, going on 14, I count to 10 in my head a lot haha. All I can do is sympathise and commiserate with you! Sometimes I just need a minute by myself to get a grip lol. Hormones are definitely not a fun pregnancy side effect xx

I shouldn’t complain really because it’s the only symptom I have really had other than fatigue and sore boobs but they were only from week 5-9 but my hormones are just everywhere haha! I’d swap them for sore boobs and fatigue any day haha! Xx
