I have Saturday Kitchen on in the background, (I find cooking shows really relaxing), and Nigella has just unwrapped the BIGGEST bit of gorgonzola.

I am REALLY missing my cheeses. I was salivating over a bee-yoo-tiful bit of creamy looking camembert the other day. I want to sink my teeth into the tangy taste of a stinky stilton...

What did everyone else miss in their pregnancies?

You can't eat unpastuerised or soft cheeses...you may get listeria because your immune system is weaker than normal.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY miss Brie. I love Brie in a hot baguette with cranberry sauce or melted in an eggy bread toastie, or on it's own with some red wine and grapes. Yummy brie. Not long now :cheer: :cheer:

I love Gorgonzola too, but only in cheese sauce, which is fine in pregancy because it is cooked to a high temperature, yey! I love gnocci or pasta with gorgonzola!

Why can you not eat cheese? I thought it was only certain ones!

I can still have chedder & cream chese - but my favourite's are all on the forbidden list!

Am having a cheese sarnie & some herby cream cheese right now.

I missed Brie as well

But I totally missed poached eggs and Pate (not together!)

Mmmm.... poached egg, might go have that for brunch as not eaten yet!

Theres a good reason for not eating stinky cheese.....

Its wrong! :puke:

I was born without the cheese lover gene :shakehead:

mmm poached eggs. Am planning a right feast when this baby's born.

Just had a thought, (rare these days), are these foods only forbidden when pregnant or do I have to avoid them when breast feeding as well??

Only whilst pregnant :) so yay! One of the first things i will be doing is easting Brie! I love brie... mmmmm

I hate stinky cheeses so I did not miss them in pregnancy.

I pretty much ate the forbidden food in pregnancy, I ate prawns (not from raw though) and peanut butter and a few other things like medium steak  none of thse made me poorly but a chinese did one night when i was pregnant with Stephen!

This thread has just made my mouth water. I agree with everything tadpole says and would just like to add a creamy soft pate to the list. Yummmmmmmmmm
