i'm a little concerned. hope one of u can help.

ever since they moved in (maybe a year ago or more) one of our next door neighbours we've frequesntly heard making the most disgusting noises.

we dont kno any of our neighbours; these particular ones all we kno is there are 2 or more of them, theres no women or children and they are foreign (we hear them speak and its never english, i dont kno what it is), and one of them has what sounds like a serious respiratory problem.

its difficult to imagine just how gross the sound is without actually hearing it, and very hard to describe, but i'll try: imagine a really bad phlegmy cough, which sort of changes to another noise; for that imagine ur doing fake vomit noises. go really REALLY over-the-top with the pretending-to-puke noises, so its almost like ur doing pantomime? ur probably close to what it sounds like. honestly when u hear it it really makes u stop what ur doing (and if ur with someone u stare at each other in disbelief) and say "WTF?!"

goodness kno's what his problem is, and jokes aside i am truly surprised he's still alive after hearing noises like that. it sounds SO unhealthy i really thought he was on his way out when i first heard him, but he's been like that for ages and still here!

its really minging, but normally its like "oh well, poor guy" maybe but now with a new baby due in only a few weeks, who'll have no immunity and whatever, i'm worried about exactly whats wrong with this guy. i'm concerned for my babys health!

i kno its no accurate diagnosis, but anyone any idea what it could be from my description?! please dont suggest i go over there and ask them, thats out of the question!

Is he a smoker? Sounds like major chest/lung problems. Revolting :puke:

i did an impression of him to my parents and my mum said it sounds like smokers' cough, but ive never heard a smoker make exaggerated vomit noises! can any smokers confirm this for me? u dont make vomit noises do u?!

ew that sounds disgusting
i agree, he might be a smoker
or asthma?
mention it to your mw or hv when they come round after the babies born

I agree with SS, it sounds like somebody with really bad lungs :?
I know when ive had a bad chest infection in the past ive sometimes coughed so hard it makes my tummy muscles squeeze so tight and makes me retch (nearly threw up all over myself in bed once  )
It hurts like hell. If you are breastfeeding hopefully LO will share your immunity while they build their own.

Having said that if it is a really bad lung prob it wont be caused by an infection, may be emphysema which is acual damage to the lungs through smoking or previous exposure to something not nice.

its difficult if you don't speak to them. i agree with the girls though. i made a point of poping in on my neighbours when alice was here to apploigies for any noise she would / had made and introduce her. its harder to be upset over the noise when you know what a cutie it is comming from :)

our old neighbour used to get 'busy' at 4 in the morning!  she sounded like a dog being strangled!!!! don't miss her one bit :rotfl:

lol, thats me. not quite a strangled dog tho buti can never look her in the eye even tho she says she cannot hear noises comin thru the wall, because im sure she is lying

Oh no that sounds awful! It sounds a lot like our neighbour in fact! He has some lung problem I'm not too sure what it is (could be that emphysema which tangerinedream suggested) but it can't help the fact that he smokes roll ups all day! Funnily enough I don't notice it half as much now we have a screaming baby!
If it's been going on for a while I wouldn't have thought it would be something 'catching' though.

i thought this was going to be about sexual noises, it sounds like something related to smoking
