I am so excited I have my mw apt this afternoon this is the first time we will get to hear the baby's heartbeat. (We have a doppler but are neve sure its the baby we've been hearing so this will confirm it.) oooohhhh I can't wait.
Thanks girls. Well it all went very well met the other midwife and they are both lovely. Got to listen to baba and it was fab the first time it sounded like a train and she said this is because the cord was in the way so she did a bit of jiggling and tried again and then it was like horses galloping it was a very definite double beat it was such a fantastic feeling to be able to hear. She measured me as 19cm and siad that was fine they don't worry if its 2cm either way, but I am carrying some blubber from before I was pg so I guess that's the extra .
Awww, glad all is well
I still havnt got to hear hearbeat, my mw said government regs had changed and she wasnt going to try until 3rd visit (24 weeks, i think) as many ppl panic if they cant hear it early on for wharever reason but everyone else seem to be hearing it at 17 weeks
Lyn_no3 no we're not going to find out decided to keep it as a surprise. I kind of feel it might be a girl but thats just cos my age and I'm more likely to have a girl, my sister says I look like I'm carrying a girl and we did the wedding ring trick which came up girl but we have to wait until August to find out.
Thats great glad your appointment went well.
I think your having a girl i swear by the heart beat thing, Kiaras sounded like galloping and my Lo sounds like a train!
I got to hear the heartbeat at 12 weeks with both pregnancies guess everywhere is so different.
