Melinda or Sofia?

Hi all

What do you think about these two girls' names? OH and I are thinking one of them as the first and the other one as middle name. Are they dated? I hope she won't be bullied because of her name.

Our surname's initial is CB.

Personally, Melinda reminds me of a cute little grandma, sorry haha. I love Sofia, much prefer it spelled like that opposed to 'Sophia' x

I think Melinda Sofia sounds better that way round than Sofia Melinda. They are both beautiful names x

Sofia, I love the name. There is a Disney cartoon called Sofia the First which is popular at the moment so I imagine there will be quite a few Sofias around x

Sofia is very common nowadays (and I prefer the spelling as Sophia). Melinda is unusual in this day and age and also cute so I'd go with that x

OH likes Sofia more. He said it sounds more elegent.
I like Melinda more, because it can be translated into my language as 'honey lotus'.
I don't want a name too common. I got a very common name myself. I used to have 2 to 3 classmates having the same name in one class... and I don't like it.

Sofia is certainly a beautiful name but it's one of the most popular names in the UK. So if you really want a name that's not common go with Melinda as she'll be the only one in her class guaranteed xx

Thanks Kay Kay. You are right, I'm looking at the popularity chart and Sophia is at the top. What the hell I try to get a unpopular name and picked one which is number 1 on the chart.

I will drop sofia all together...
