Meals on a Budget

Basically we are skint at the moment, and for the forseeable future until the flat sells.
We are paying all the bills on two places at the moment and its not fun

Can anyone give me some ideas for cheap tasty meals, not ready to resort to fish fingers and value range tesco nuggets yet.

i usually make casseroles/pasta bakes/spag bol and stuff- you only need quite cheap ingredients but they fresh and not minging- i usually have some left over for lunch or dinner the next day- potatos are good cos you can do loads with them- plus with mince i buy 2 lots then freeze 1 so it doesn't have to be used that week. avoid stuff that goes off really quick that you might not use i always end up wasting loads of money doing that!
