My LO is 7 months and we have been weaning for 2 months. I have been cooking my own from the Annabel Karmel book so far with the occasional jar/pouch when out and about.

I have started to introduce a more textured feel to her food and no longer purée but she just won't take it.

I have also started to introduce meat and she hates it. I have found only one meat thing she will eat so far that I cooked.

She screams at every meal time with the new foods by the end of it we are both in tears. I have tried the stage 2 jars just in case it was my cooking but same thing happens.

The only things I can get her to eat with no fuss is completely smooth food, puddings or yogurts. She needs to learn with lumps but just won't take them and gets so distressed.

Any ideas what I can do or why she is being like it? I did wonder teething but does not explain it all.

Thanks.

On tapatalk so can't see tickers :-(
Excuse the typos, phone has mind of its own.

Have you tried just giving her finger foods to chomp on?? It may be that she will take more doing it herself?? Just a thought, Stanley from about 6 months preferred to do it himself than be spoon fed xx

I did a mix of traditional & baby led weaning so the transition to lumper food seems to go easier as it was such a major change for her

My godson is 7 months and is doing the exact same thing. In the end his mum gave up and he now is baby led weaning and doing fantastically well at it! He was munching away on ham butties today lol! The minute she tries to spoon feed him anything (apart from yogurt - he loves yogurt) he screams until she takes the spoon and puréed or mashed food away.

James eats stage 2 foods no problem but won't have finger foods lol but def try blw you may find lo will take to it like a duck to water
