maternity allowance

Hi there!
Does anyone know how soon I can start my allowance claiming? I'm 27 weeks and really struggling with PGP so want to start my paid leave asap. I'm self emplyed although i dont think that alters when you can start your leave from

im sure you can claim from 26 weeks x

Hi there, I think you can start claiming from week 29, or 11 weeks before your due date.

Ring DWP especially because you're self employed, it takes a couple of weeks to process and you may not get the money straight away if you claim too late. x
