Does anyone know if I would be able to claim maternity allowance if I was to be made redundant from my job before I go on maternity?

Yes you should be able to claim it 11 weeks before your due date

Depending on when you are made redundant you might still be entitled to smp even if not working when you go on matetnity leave. There is maternity calculator on the direct.gov website that will work it out for you.
