I dont know if this applys to everyone, but after longterm maternity leave i decided to go back to work last week (part time 16hrs) instead of the 39 hours a week (fulltime). My Union rep advised me today that I am entitled to backdated holiday pay from when my mat leave started. Ive been awarded 24 days holiday pay, which they offered to pay me cash, knowing i would have been hammered with tax plus it would affect my child tax and working tax credits i told them il take the time off. Yipee im off for the next 3 months startin december, i only went back to avoid being penalised for not returning after mat leave. Was peed off that the work never told me i was due this time back, so if you are in the same situation please check as you could be entitled to the same. If id left it any longer i would have lost out on the time i hadnt taken, as of April. Xke;X
