not sure if anyone else has started to think about this yet but thought i'd ask...

are the mama tens machines supposed to be any good?

they had them at the baby show last weekend, and i signed up to get one hired for £19 for 6 weeks... they send them out at 37 weeks...

have i made a good choice or should i cancel it? any thoughts please?

thanks :):)

I had one and wanted to use it with no other pain relief, i found it irritating, the pads kept falling off and it feels like pins and needles so not sure how it is meant to help. I hated it.

Perhaps other people will be more positive than me, i know when i asked about them last time about 50/50% said it worked and didnt work so think its an individual thing. I would say go for it and get it, if you hate it do what i did and pull it off and relagate it to the corner if you like it great!!! They are not much money so worth a try!

Hope it works for you hun, they're a lovely idea for natural pain relief!

Don't know...however....our local sure start hires them free. Maybe worth a call???

£19 isn't the end of the world though if you don't get on with it.

i'm normally quite retiscent when it comes to signing up for stuff, but i figured £19 wasn't the end of the world... haven't heard of sure start, but i'll look into that, thanks :)

i like the idea of it, but am not entirely convinced i'll like it in actualilty!

They are a government programme offering kids a good start in the world! Generally have sure start centres at a school (generally the rough one!!! :rotfl: ) in a town. The lady who runs ours also said that they can give you nursing bras if they have your size, offer baby massage, lets you know where and when mother and baby groups are on etc.

I used it with my first pregnancy would not say it helped but everyone is different and for £19 worth a try :)

I have just been given a tens machine for hip pain during pregnancy, it can be quite good, but can also be a bit iritating, they sell them at loyds the chemists for £15, and its just as good as the one the hospital gave me. I do think ts worth getting to give it a try, :)

changing the subject but...... ewwwww 2nd hand bras..... :puke: LOL i'm a snob!

nah, i'm with you on that one! i can't do 2nd hand shoes either :puke: i remember going to a car boot sale a few years where someone was selling 2nd hand pants :puke: :puke: :puke: what was worse was that people were buying them

I'm really funny about 2nd hand clothes in general, it makes me feel ill. Can't be using second hand crokery or cutlery either :puke: (Yet I eat in restaurants?!) Stupid I know, you can get some great bargains
