hi all

just wondered if anyone had one of these how long did they roughly last there lil one ? what age or weight ? i know what there 'ment' to last too but is this realistic , i cant help but think when his bigger its gonna be hard to carry round and id rather a fixed car seat in the car !!

Hi Gem!
I have one of these. It is really heavy, but I'm used to it now!

The one thing I will say about them is that they are not the most suitable for newborns. They are a bit too upright for my liking!

Also, when Mhairi was about 8 weeks old she managed to get her head stuck between the side impact bit and the bit the belt goes into. I was in the front seat driving on the motorway at the time and thought she was crying for a feed.

I was horrified when I saw the position she'd got herself in and I now have one of those mirrors you strap to the back headrest so you can see baba.

I googled them when I got home that night and apparently this happened a lot with the M&P.

I know that they have now changed the design, but not sure if it has been changed to stop this happening!

I never had a M&P carseat but I think all the infant seats are pretty much the same. I think it depends on how big your baby is because Jake was in his until he was about 14 months old(he is quite small). I couldn't put Jake in to a forward facing seat until then because he wasn't 20lb in weight but he still fitted in to his infant seat until then anyway(even if it did kill my back carrying him around  ). If Leland gets to 20lb before he is 9 months old or you want a fixed in seat for him anyway you could always get a combination seat(birth - 4 years) which are rear facing and change to forward facing when LO weighs atleast 20lb and is atleast 9 months old.
