Could you have another bloodtests 7 days from the last one to check the levels then, that's how my doc did it? Also I'm sure your doc told you but start your metformin on the lowest dose and have with evening meal to help with side effects and then build the dose slowly. What dose does your doc want you to be on?

If you get side effects as hard as it is try and live with them for a couple of weeks cause then as if by magic they normally go overnight

500mg Once daily for a wk then try 500mg twice daily if tolerated x
i was told to have them with breakfast - as im a nurse i know you need to make sure you have them with food shouldnt matter when you have them as long as its with a meal x

That's good then, I think my doc said to have them with evening meal so I am at home incase of side effects
