yesterday he reached out for the radiator while he was on DH lap & touched the radiator, DH didn't know i had put the heating on coz it was a bit chilly( first thing) he touched it for 1 second & screamed & DH realised what he had done :(

god we feel so awful, he now has 2 big blisters, one on each finger that got burnt, put sudocrem on it to cool the burning sensation, feel so guilty especially coz hes ill too, got a cough & cold & looks ill.

can i try anything else? *i feel like a crap mummy*

hu you arent a crap mummy u r a brilliantmummy accidenst happen and guess what this is just the start i guess when they are walking thatll be it they will try get everything open doors grab hot drinks so pls darlin dont feel bad ... i think maybe just soaking it in cool water for him, and carry on with the sudocream just try relieve the pain as much as you can 1 or 2 days and he will have forgotten it
ope Louie gets better soon too darl

aww hun

accidents happen. you are a fab mummy!

awww thanks you two  yeah forgot to add that straight away i ran his hand under the cold tap & hopefully that took some of the pain away for him :(

i think tonight one of the blisters had popped so gonna have to really keep an eye on it.
what we all gonna do when they are toddling around & reach for radiators?

when my other two were small we had storage heaters but i can't remember how we stopped them from burning themselves  this is the first time its ever happened & i've been a mummy for nearly 11 years.

thanks again

It might be worth taking him to the doctors or something to get it dressed if it looks quite open as it could get infected. I know you must feel guilty but don't because accidents will happen.

Sounds stupid... but it really works, if you have a blister rub some Vicks on it... it helps dry it out so it heals quicker. My mum used to do it with me and one of my friends boy did the same as Louie and she put some on and it had gone in a couple of days

aww hun, accidents happen, it's not your fault, you're a brilliant Mummy

Oh dear! Poor little mite but I guess as Steph said accidents will happen and as much as you want to wrap 'em in cotton wool these things do happen. Hope he's okay now?
Also I know what you mean about thinking back to last year this time, I keep doing the same thing, it's hard to believe a year ago you were pregnant and counting the days to the next tri, scan etc and now your playing with your wee man, it is truly amasing  :D

Awww foxy poor Louie. How is he today?

Like everyone has said accidents happen so try don't feel bad hun.

hannah did this when she was 8 months but she stuck her hand to the cooker door, i took her to hospital ad the put her a dresing on with some tea tree stuff on and it worked brilliant, the only thing u have to watch if the blister has burst is that it doesnt get infected. hope they heal quickly :D

thanks all you girls
i am taking Louie to the docs at 3 pm today coz he is ill & crying all the time, he has such a bad cough & i will also get her to look at his hand.
the only thing is this doctor is a locum & she is crap! have seen her before & she is about 60 eccentric as basil brush :rotfl: :rotfl:

wish me luck!

Awww hun so sorry to hear this and what rubbish you thinking your a bad mum, your a fab mum and while as parents we want nothing more than to protect our little ones from all harm sadly these things will happen.
I really hope Louie is feeling better soon, sounds like he's been through the mill bless the little chap
