We went to Mamas and Papas today for our first look at baby stuff as I was too tired to go at 12 weeks.

That place is really expensive but we were very impressed by their three wheeler buggy (which I had fallen in love with on the internet). It is quite cheap too at £180 and feels very durable and is really easy to push about. Although there is no matching car seat, one of the M&P range is compatible so if we get it, we'll probably get the car seat from there too.

All the rest of the stuff was very expensive although we found the cutest white, fluffy, soft snowsuit type thing with matching hat and mittens. Probably the least practical piece of clothing ever (and likely to be thrown up on within two minutes of being put on  ) but we both fell in love with it.

Also fell in love with this bouncy chair thing which plays nature and sea sounds to the baby and it has it's own rocking motion.

We didn't buy anything but just wandered around getting all carried away

Then back at home I thought I'd search this ebay shop that a friend at work told me about - he has four kids so knows his stuff about getting bargains. Lo and behold all the stuff we want is in the online shop for cheaper than in M&P :cheer:

The online shop is called baby-pages and they have a warehouse shop in Norfolk. The ebay branch of the shop is here although they don't seem to have as much in stock as on the main website. The postage is free if over £50 has been spent and my colleague said he'd bought quite a few things from there over the years. Just thought I'd share the link in case anyone else might benefit from the slightly cheaper prices.

Ahhh I love the bouncer it matches the brown/beige teddy theme we are gonna do in the nursery, do you remember how much it was?! :D

Mine was from Next, I think it was about £35 but shop around because I've seen it cheaper in Argos :) xx

Thanks Dannii Ive just ebayed it too(!) and a few came up so may see how high they go to plus check the other sites like argos, etc to fnd the best deal!x

Dannii have you tried out the sea/nature sounds on the bouncer yet? I really want to stay away from anything that plays a nursery rhyme in case it starts to annoy me, I was hoping that sea and nature sounds would be easier on my ears

laura, I've been looking at some on ebay which look much better prices, I probably won't start buying until after my maternity leave starts though. Good luck on getting yours :D

Thanks Mildly I did bid on one but they went for more than I thought they would so may wait and see if anyone wants to buy us one as a present (!) as people are bound to ask what we still need. Another idea may be that some of the catalogues offer a £15 discount off your 1st order when you join I know littlewoods did when I bought something a while ago so you could try that to get it cheaper!X

No I haven't played the noises yet it didn't come with batteries :(

Constant nursery rhymes would do my head in I think!! xx

I got that bouncer on ebay for £14!!! Jack loved it.
