We went to Mamas and Papas today for our first look at baby stuff as I was too tired to go at 12 weeks.
That place is really expensive but we were very impressed by their three wheeler buggy (which I had fallen in love with on the internet). It is quite cheap too at £180 and feels very durable and is really easy to push about. Although there is no matching car seat, one of the M&P range is compatible so if we get it, we'll probably get the car seat from there too.
All the rest of the stuff was very expensive although we found the cutest white, fluffy, soft snowsuit type thing with matching hat and mittens. Probably the least practical piece of clothing ever (and likely to be thrown up on within two minutes of being put on
) but we both fell in love with it.
Also fell in love with this bouncy chair thing which plays nature and sea sounds to the baby and it has it's own rocking motion.
We didn't buy anything but just wandered around getting all carried away
Then back at home I thought I'd search this ebay shop that a friend at work told me about - he has four kids so knows his stuff about getting bargains. Lo and behold all the stuff we want is in the online shop for cheaper than in M&P
The online shop is called baby-pages and they have a warehouse shop in Norfolk. The ebay branch of the shop is here although they don't seem to have as much in stock as on the main website. The postage is free if over £50 has been spent and my colleague said he'd bought quite a few things from there over the years. Just thought I'd share the link in case anyone else might benefit from the slightly cheaper prices.
