Wow look what I found 9 months dos'nt seem that bad now

Think your pregnancy has lasted forever? Those nine or so months might not seem so bad compared to the gestational periods of some of our mammalian friends:

Animal Days Months
Elephant 645 21-1/2 months
Rhinoceros 450 15 months
Giraffe 425 14 months, 5 days
Camel 406 13-1/2 months
Zebra 365 12 months
Donkey 365 12 months
Sea Lion 350 11-1/2 months
Horse 330 11 months

The cow and buffalo both carry their young about as long as do humans: 278 and 284 days, respectively, compared to our 280 days. Only have a month? Mice, rabbits, opossums and chipmunks all go from conception to birth in a period of 31 days or less.

Gosh I do feel lucky now, id hate to be an elephant!!!!! (even though im beginning to resemble one at the mo!)

I feel like ive been carrying this one for about the same length as an elephant :(

Rather liking the sounds of giving birth 31 days after the deed

I know I thought my dogs had it good at 9 weeks but 31 days is better

Wouldn't like to be them lol, but i'd prefer to be a pregnant cat...not sure how long my cats 2 pregnancies lasted for but i'm sure it was only a few months.

Makes you wonder how animals survive pregnancy without midwifes :rotfl: they just get on with it!

Everyone that I have moaned to about it being too long has said to me think yourself lucky you arn't an elephant.
