Hi everyone

I am having a really surreal few days. I only discovered I was pregnant last week but I am 12 weeks!! waiting on the midwife to call me to arrange a scan ASAP but doctor reckons im due oct 25th.

This was so unexpected as I was told in the words of a specialist 'come back and see me when your married and want to have children' - how wrong he was!!

So here I am, trying to get my head around what is to come but yet im kinda excited as I never thought i'd have my own baby. Things aren't perfect as the FOB and I aren't together any more and he has taken the news pretty badly. Though im still trying to stay hopeful that he will come round to the idea.

Has anyone elses great news been unexpected or is anyone facing doing it on their own?

Congratulations, you must be very excited and nervous at the same time. Wow we are due a similar time too, I'm due 24th October. :)

Sorry to hear the FOB isn't quite so happy but don't let it spoil your excitement - Its fantastic news and if hes not pleased more fool him as him will miss out on a lot. Really hope he does come round though x

So what made you realise you were pregnant? Have you managed to escape morning sickness and other symptoms??

Welcome to the forum :) xx

Hi nat

im so envious that you have a picture of your baby... i cant wait to see mine.
I had no obvious symptoms - I was exhausted and always tired but I just got a promotion in work and was working ridiculous hours so just put it down to that. Last week I just had a niggle in my mind and was gettin weird feeling like pains but not in my lower abdomin so I took a test and it was positive.

How has your first trimester been? October seems like ages away and I have no patience i want ot know and see it all now lol

Welcome and congratulations! I've been worried about my OH coming round to the idea of a baby on the way as it was a bit of a shock for us too, but the girls on this forum have been fantastic in showing me that I'm not alone- lots of fathers-to-be have a hard time dealing with the idea of a new baby, and as they aren't physically experiencing it it can be hard for them to empathise. One minute my OH will be all happy and baby-loving, the next he's trying to pin the blame on me. It's just a man way of dealing with a frightening new situation. Give him time, and I bet he'll come round to it. xxx

Congratulatioins on your pregnancy hun! and wow!! you won't be in the tri1 section for very long - lucky you!! xx

My scan was amazing, the best day ever - he/she looked so sweet - kicking about quite a lot :)

Tiredness is definitely one of the first symptoms, before I knew I was pregnant I kept falling asleep at 7 in the evenings. I've spent the last 6/7 weeks feeling very sick so it has gone so slow for me, like you I'm so impatient! I've had sore boobs, strange tastes, can't stand certain smells - I realised more or less from when my period would have been due. Like you it was a shock for me as I wasn't trying.

Well done on the promotion, thats fantastic probably just what you need before baby comes along :) Try not to work too hard though, I'm always stressed and working late and its really not good for you and the baby.

I'm going for a private scan on the 12th May to find out the sex, I can't wait - Are you going to find out or wait for the surprise? Being impatient I want to know now. I also like being organised so it helps to know what I'm having :)

OOOhh it's so exciting. If they don't tell me at 20wks i will go for a private scan, though i have a feeling its a boy!

Strangely even before I knew I was pregnant I started eating and drinking anything lemon flavoured and one of my friends made a quip about cravings that I laughed at!! Because I have bad ovaries beign late or missing a month is nothing new so I wasn't even suspicious.

Are your symptoms easing off any? I really have been so lucky though I am finding that since i've found out its not so great. Convinced its all in the mind lol but am struggling with the stuffiness of the office and had to take myself out for air a few times today.

Hope you don't mind me asking but what age are you and is this your first?

Lol, I have a feeling I'm having a boy too. I turned 26 in March and yes this is my first. How old are you?

Its fantastic that you've got pregnant even with the problems with your ovaries, a little miracle :) :)

I'm definitely not feeling as sick anymore but still really tired.

I thought about waiting till 20 weeks but I can't want that long, another 4 weeks is long enough, im so excited :)

Im 24 will be 25 when baby arrives.
I bawled my eyes out when I found out and for most of the wkend but when I sat down and thought about it I realised how amazing it actually was and am fully embracing it now.

4 weeks will fly in!!! you'll have to keep me updated x

Congrats and welcome!! DOnt worry when i had my 12 wk can i was actually 16 wks!!

wow congratulations!!!

I think it's actually great that you found out so late! Saves you all those weeks of constant worrying!

xx

Congratulations! Welcome and wishing you a happy, healthy and enjoyable pregnancy!

You are so lucky Daisy... The first 12 weeks seem to go so slow before that first scan.... Would love to just find out that late so I didn't have the wait...

It is so exciting for you... hope the next 6 months go well. :)
