So, it's a bit late, but here is my labour/birth story 
At 37+4, I woke up and looked at my bedside table clock, it was 0001. Wasn't sure what woke me, but as I went to fall back to sleep, I felt my waters break. I wasn't sure at first if I was my waters or if I was just weeing myself, as I couldn't stop it from coming I realised it was my waters
I rang triage and spoke to a midwife, she asked me to go straight in to be checked. We got to the hospital at 01:30am, I was checked, my cervix was still high but thin, and my waters had deffo broken. They strapped me to the monitor to check the baby, all was ok. They sent me home to wait for my contractions to start and booked me in for an induction at 8 am the following day incase I went that long.
Went home and managed to sleep until 9am, started contractions but they were irregular. Was contracting on and off all day, they became regular at 11 pm that night (LONGEST DAY EVER!!) managed to stay home until I was due to go in for induction. Was checked when I got to hospital, and had only dilated 1cm
There were no beds available for my induction, so they gave me a sweep and left me on the post natal ward to carry on contracting. I was there until a bed became available at 6pm
They took me to the delivery suite and hooked me up to a drip to induce me, also needed a drip of antibiotics as my waters had gone more than 40 hrs ago and I had got an infection. By this point I was still only 1cm!
I was checked at 12am and had only reached 5cm, I then started on gas and air (BEST THING EVER!!) By 2am I felt the overwhelming urge to push, but the midwife told me not to as I wouldn't have gone another 5cm in only 2 hrs.....she was wrong haha. She checked and told me to start pushing. By this point I was absolutely exhausted and felt like giving up, but my hubby kept me going. Pushing his head out was the worst part, ring of fire is a the closest comparison the rest of him pretty much flew out haha. The relief is unbelievable!! And then I had my beautiful baby boy placed on my chest for skin to skin, that rush of love is indescribable.
So my waters broke at 0001 Tuesday morning, and Oscar Terence arrived at 0308am Thursday morning, weighing 8lb6oz, after 1 hour of pushing on gas and air. Love my baby boy to the moon and back, worth every moment of pregnancy and labour xx
