Hi everyone,

Just thought I would drop in say hello to everyone as I have just joined. I am a first time father to be. Hope everyone is well wherever you are!

Daddy To Be!

Hi there Daddy To Be. Best of luck at this incredible time for you.

As well as the obvious excitement, this will be an emotional roller-coaster for your other half - it is possible that she will cry at you, shout at you, throw things at you and sometimes she might even feel like she hates you. And she'll have no idea why.

Your job is to make her feel beautiful, show her how thankful you are to her for carrying your child and be her general rock. Flowers and chocolates are good. As is plenty of enthusiasm for baby-related shopping and/or nursery preparations. Just be there to listen to how she's feeling and offer to help in any way you can - around the house, nipping to the shops, running the odd errand that she can't face doing while she's nauseous, building flatpack furniture or whatever.

I'm not a mum myself, but I have a lot of friends with babies and toddlers and this is just some of what I've picked up from listening to their stories. I'm sure the other ladies here will be able to share their advice with you too.

These forums will be an amazing source of advice for you - lots to learn about pregnancies and becoming a parent - so you're definitely in the right place.

Thank You very much indeed for that kind welcome! :-)

Hello and welcome to PF
How nice to see a daddy-to-be here (there are a few of you knocking around I think?). I hope you find this forum as helpful and supportive as I have.
Good luck on your journey x
