Saw the MW today and mentioned the pain in my hips/back/legs and she has confirmed its PGP and referred me to a physio :cheer: thank god for that :cheer: there was no hesitation either. I thought I was going to have a battle on my hands trying to convince her I really needed some help with it but nope, she was great. I should hear from them sometime next week :cheer:

BP 110/70 so not bad and baby's HB was clear and regular :D and my measurements spot on for my dates, but there is glucose in my wee wee :( , never had that before. She asked me if i'd eaten more sugary stuff lately ( I didnt mention the rice crispie squares yesterday  ) I have noticed an increase in my sugar/carbs intake so hopefully its just my body not coping with the extra intake of sugar and not gestational diabetes.

I now have to stay away from sugary things and carbs for 2 weeks!!! Arrgghhh, why is that when your told not to have something you REALLY crave it?

If glucose is detected in 2 weeks then I have to have a blood test

Plus she has recommended I go see my GP about going back onto anti-d's because I'm feeling very low atm. I dont want to do this so gonna see if I can last without them.

Thats about it really :D

Sorry, I just sneaked in here early (not in Tri 3 til tomorrow!), but your midwife appointment sounds exactly like mine I've had this morning! I went to see her because I had awful crampy pains last night, but on top of that I mentioned that I too have had terrible aches in my pelvis. My left hip aches like crazy on a night, my pubic bone feels like it's going to explode, and I am struggling to walk.
What's PGP? I've heard of SPD, which my midwife seems to think I've got, and she's going to see how it is next week and possibly refer me to a physio as well.
On top of this, she discovered glucose in my wee wee too, and protein, so she's coming to see me on Monday to do a re-test.
Hope you get sorted with the physio soon

Oh Hi Shinymac welcome :D

PGP Pelvic Girdle Pain which is similar to SPD, I believe SPD is more associated with the pubic bone and PGP is more the Pelvic/hips region. Either way they both are very painful.

The link below gives you info on it and was really helpful to me, there is also info about SPD too, if you follow the links.

I'd deffo push for physio at your next appointment, walking is an issue for me too as is sitting and at nightime I cant sleep its so umcomfy. I get stuck in bed and cant turn over. I had a BIG rant earlier this week on here which helped I got lots of lovely replies.

Keep us informed how you get on.

hope the physio can help babe, ive just started seeing physio last week and im being held together by tubi grip lol

hope everything settles now hun

Thanks for the link! It does sound just like me when I read the symptoms of the SPD!
The "getting stuck" at night bit sounds familiar as well, it's an absolute nightmare to change positions in bed at the moment.
I'll definitely be mentioning it again to the midwife on Monday.
Thanks again! :)

Thanks Chezza

Do you feel the physio is helping? Although if you only started last week is that enough time to feel the results?

Sorry you guys are in pain

I had similar pain in my 2nd pregnancy but was only referred to physio after the birth of my baby... and it was brill! Turned out I'd shifted my pelvis out of line because I'd been carrying my older daughter around on one hip during the pregnancy, as well as just generally overdoing things. Because the ligaments are softer in pregnancy, it's much easier to damage your joints. The physio helped me to get things back in place and I learned ways to stand and turn that didn't cause so much pain. Since then, I've had the usual uncomfortableness (a word?) during my 3rd preg and this one but nothing like the shooting pains I had when carrying number 2.

This was something else I had issues with in pregnancy 2. I was eating a lot more sugary stuff so kept getting +glucose. Eventually went for a GTT, which was fine. So after that I made sure that for at least 24 hours before an appointment, I resisted the sugary stuff! Was still a BIT naughty other times tho! You're right that denying yourself something only makes you want it more :)

Hope you feeling better soon and good luck with the physio, the sugar and feeling down. Sounds like you having a rough time hun
