Hi sorry I know this question is a bit previous, but we will be moving in a couple of months and redecorating Noahs room. So I was wondering at what age can you go from a cot to a junior bed with cot sides?

We want to use Noahs cot for the new bub, and we are doing a themed room with a mural for him so wondered if I could get him a proper bed in a few months or if that was far to early?

I had a look at some lovely ones in Ikea (bet you were looking yesterday too!) But we've decided on a normal cot bed for Damien when the new bubba steals his cot.

Ha ha ha snap!

We are going to do both bedrooms as theme rooms, one underwater with fish and stuff on the walls (loving the ikea stuff for that) and the other will be a jungle theme room for the new buba.

I have been just looking at junior beds online to get an idea of age, and some say 15+ months (when we move Noah will be about 13 months) others say 18+ months and one said 3+ years!!! :?

I don't think I will put Damien's cot bed as a bed till he is 18months, maybe ebven later than that.
One of the other main reasons for going with a cot bed for us though was that you can get a thing enough mattress for a apnoea monitor to go under. That's probably what swayed us more than anything else, well that and Damien seems to end up pressed against the edges (minly the headboard end) when he's asleep

lol yeah Noah does that, stuffs himself in the corners, Im sure thats whats given him dents in his head!

Its just lifting him in and out of cot does your back in now, cause he is about 80cm long and 24lb
