Hi Ladies, can I come in?

I've finally made it to Tri 3!! I'm so excited, really feels like the final leg now!

Natalie xx

Hiya  Welcome to 3rd tri :cheer:

(P.S. Are you in Derby? I think I remember a post about whether DCGH have a pool room - we went for our ante-natal class last night there and they do have a birthing room with a pool - if not you the sorry for invading your thread with this  )

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I didn't bring a cake, sorry, can I pinch a bit of yours HelloKitty? I'm mad on special K at the moment - I can offer some of that?

I am the one that posted about the pool Emmylou. Does it look any good? I'm really interested in using it but I think it's on a first come first serve basis so I suppose it just depends on what's happening on the day!

Was the rest of the tour any good? I'm still deciding if to pay for ante natal classes or not? Do yoga on a monday night that's fantastic for breathing and stuff so that might be enough??

xxx

The ante-natal class was good........better for DH than me as I have picked up so much info from the forum. But I'm glad I know where things will happen, where to go, and get that visual.......was def worth it.

I'm not having any other classes, but will poss go on the separate tour where they show you the rest of the ward etc.

The class last night was more about the stages or labour, different labour positions, a little exercise in breathing (blowing an orange ball to each other  ) etc.

The pool looked ok, I'm not tempted by a water birth I don't think as I think I'll need the reassurance of how far dilated I am - its just like a big bath, but looks comfy, has a seat and the handles on the side. The room with the pool in is a good size too. The mw said they obviosuly can't guarantee you'll get the pool room, but if it is in use you can ask if you can go in as soon as its available (if bubba holds on that long) as once one woman has finished using it they can clean it and turn it around for the next person within an hour! It was free last night which she said was unusual so I guess it will all be down to how busy they are at the time you go in.

I too am mad on Special K at the moment, could quite happily eat it for every meal! :cheer:

Thanks Emmylou,

Sounds good, can't wait for my tour. I'm the kind of person who needs facts and so I will feel a lot better when I see the place!! Will be good of OH too like you say.

Just off for another bowl now.....

Thanks again  xxxxx

welcome to Tri 3. I asked my m/w about the pool today wether it would be an option for me as I am on consultant led care but ws told ti would be up to them to decide when I got to the hosp so not holding out much hope.

Is it duffield you go tofor the Yoga ?a lot of people from aquanatal go there but its not my thing.

Hi Cloud,

Yeah it's duffield for the yoga. I've never done it before and didn't think it was my thing either - felt slightly self concious at first! I really enjoy it now though. So relaxing! I think I'll continue with normal yoga after too.

You should come and try it for a session - let me know if you want the no.

Is the Aqua Natal still good? I really want to start but can't come until end of March as I have weds morning commitments until then :( Will it be worth me joining at 31 weeks? Don't want to be too big to get into it.

No worries Natalie!

I go to aqua natal and I love it, its just so nice to be in the water, eases all the aches and strains away!

I'd like to try the yoga but I think maybe its a bit late now...

Hi Kitty

It's ever too late to start Yoga in your pregnancy, and at 27 weeks you have plenty of time. Some of my students don't come to the class until week 30 onwards.

Even with one class you could pick up some breathing techniques or a better awareness of the pelvic floor that will make your birth experience easier.

And besides that, it's fun :)

Cheers,

Scott

yes Nat. I went today and I am 32 weeks. there were 2 women there who were 39 weeks so you can keep going till the birth...You get a nice cup of tea or aquash afterwards aswell where you get chance to chat to toher mom's to be for an hour which is really nice.

If you decide to come you need to really be there for about 9ish to make sure you get in
