aw they are so sweet!! i love the one in the tinsel!!!! and fiki is a lovely colour!!!!

thanks :)

fiki is a poser i just couldnt be bothered to sift through hundreds of photos for my fave photo of him

30 - wow!! The most I have had at one time is eight.

Rats are my fave pets ever, I can't wait till I can get some more. Love Miss Tom, she is so pretty and your Rexes are gorgeous too

You know when I first seen these pics I just thought arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :rotfl:

But Spike has changed my mind, he's a real cutie pie. You like the pied piper with all those little fellas

aww

spikes my baby hes so licky and friendly but hes all old now :( and wont be around much longer

if my rats were as well behaved as the pied piper id be happy

miss tom is rather cute bless her, very cheeky but cute

*remembers hunting for hours cause she got downstairs during freerange time and made a nest in the sofa*

my favourite was called Dillon, an albino, he was so dopey and cute he'd just snuggle up on my shoulder for ages :)

omg you have bald rats i really want some of them bt hubby wont let me says they look to freeky!!
we have to hairy ones lol sugars and twinkle :)
xx

lol i forget they are hairless now, its odd. lol

my first rat (well one of) was a PEW (pink eyed white) and i miss him greatly, one day (after my numbers have gone down) im going to get another one, i love them :D

awwww they are gorgeous hun :) i have grown up with rats as pets and i loved them the last lot i remember having were called

bubble & squeek (bro and sis one did nothin but sqeek and bubble well he was soo chubby)

nightrider - like ur midnight nightrider was so so dark in colour

we had another 3 but i cant remember their names :wall: :wall:

your are just lovely, where do u keep all 29???? i bet mucking out is a task and a half !!
:rotfl: :rotfl:

they are all in my room (makes for a noisy night, will probably sleep through baby cries  )

i have 3 cages, one with a group of 8 in, one with 11 and one with 10

to do a full clean(once a week) (scrubbing bases and igloos etc) it takes about an hour and a half in total (if OH helps) 45 mins if i do it on my own! hes a bit slow at the scrubbing thing

to do the midweek clean i just pull out any wet/soiled bedding and litter and replace it, if the hammocks are manky i replace them.

they are on a bedding called hemcore (people with horses will probably have heard of it) so i can just sweep out the litter and take the top cage part off.

if i do a full on clean (once a month this gets done) all the cages flat pack so they are taken fully apart and all the bars are scrubbed etc that takes about 4 hours roughly to do on my own (including the taking apart and putting together) but thats putting cages together that are taller than me so i have to fight with them sometimes lol it takes half the time if i get OH to help.

it honestly sounds alot more than it feels but then if anyone ever wants to come and visit i dont have to worry about the cages looking disgusting cause they are always scrubbed clean.

i know things will change when the baby arrives but alot of the rats on the photos are old now so bambino wont meet them  and OH has been great with helping me the past 6 weeks :)

heres some cage photos (though they are old, this is in my old house

Marley is 5 :D

wow look at those cages....huge ! love the hammok idea !!!! how friendly are they ? ours were not so tame and would bite :?

all of mine are lovely. theres one i wouldnt trust with other people because he gave me a pretty severe bite, but he doesnt bite i would just hate for him too.

most of mine lick  but they are all absolutely lovely, i have had children as young as 2 have them sat on them (under supervision obviously) but i trust them not to bite, i can shove my fingers in their mouth and they just pull away (like a dog does)

and my Spike :D

Normal hairy rats are fine, my brother had some which were very good and playful with him, but i just dont think i could go for the hairless look it really doesnt do it for me!

I'll stick to my sisters dwarf hampster for now! I've never been big on small animals.

Some of them are very cute
