Jees, 10.7lbs at 37 weeks. Im soo glad im thin.
But I can understand where the surgeon is coming from when he was talking about the surgery being soo much harder in obese/ fat mums, we found this out when operating on fat/ obese horses needing colic surgery, fat is greasy and slimy making your instruments greasy and slimy, you cant grip it, it tears easily, wont hold suture material and doesnt heal well and wounds are more likely to break down and become infected.

my friend just had a baby shes about an 8/10 and he weighed 9lb 2oz so its not just big women who have big babies.

im big and my dd was 6lb 6oz so not massive by any means.

Im hoping this one is small too lol

It seems people of all sizes have babies of all sizes, what annoyed me was the woman with the 5 stone 3 year old that doesn't understand why he is so big but she is feeding him chips! Hate seeing kids / babies given chips and mac donalds to keep them happy. If they don't know it exists, they won't miss it!

I was shocked at the 5 stone 3 yr old too, Im 10x his age but dont even weigh double what he does even at the minute at 34wks.
The little girl toddler was shocking too, 2.5ft tall and 2 stone ( cant remember what age she was but prob not even 2yrs) and her mum was giving her a full bag of chips and she would nearly eat them all. That is shocking, those poor kids are going to have soo many health problems and will get bullied no end when they get older and the mums could do something about it and just found it funny.

Adults that are obese have a choice whether to help them selves or not but kids dont.

that little girl was 1 yr old who ate a full bag of chips.

yeah, that was more shocking than the big baby bit. i mean you hear about little mum's having big babies, but a 1 year old having a full bag of chips - thats just wrong!!

xxx

wasnt actually much 'birth' in it, and most of the big babies were big for a reason. xxx

yeah, i was a bit pissed off tbf, im big but ive done nothing but eat healthily and try my best to do the right thing for my baby. hence only putting on 3.5kg since getting pg. those mums just dont seem to care and then when baby is born theyre feeding it chips and processed fast food. poor little things dont stand a chance and thats the reason that ppl are starting to have their children taken away for neglect when they let them get that fat. the parent can say no. they contrl the childs food intake and know better. why would you give a 1 yr old the same portion size as the rest of the family.... makes no sense, they dont need that much food in one sitting.

might catch up with that on itv player, sounds interesting x

didnt watch it as was a bit scared to!
When I did my tour of my maternity unit, there was a girl who was 34 wks pg ... she had been told that her baby already weighed about 10lbs!!!!!!
