Surely they'll fix all the things that need fixing/replacing before you move in won't they? And you can always hire a carpet cleaner from Homebase for about £25 for a day. Brilliant things and get it all so clean.

Good luck with it all :)

no cause its hubbys uncle that owns the place not a agency o landlord as such
il be able to fix it up just dont really wanna be having to do it :)
mum has a carpet cleaner but shes one of them people that says you can borrow something but never lends it to you
oh and one huge problem we dont have a van top move with now so christ knows what we are going to do
il be carrying the stuff down the road at this rate

Ah you'll have it looking gorgeous in no time. Think "changing rooms"! I love that kind of thing. Budget normally causes me some issues tho.... :)

lol changing rooms :D
the huge room upstairs is great though its a converted attic and its bare was going to use it for a nursey but the stairs are very narrow and steep going up to it so maybe not a great idea!!!
already planned to take down all the pictures oh and binned the fake flowers they are so bad luck eeeeeppppp

are fake flowers bad luck? Will have to tell my mum that, her house is full of them and she's had a rough time of it lately.

I'm sure it won't take long before it's looking fab :D

I live down south - not sure where abouts you are but why not look in yellow pages and see if you can hire a man in a van or something? Sure they can't be that expensive - and certainly no heavy lifting for you!!!!!

have emailed 3 men and a van lol i have a £50 budget for a man and van should cover it
also just relised there aint no fridge freezer lol mum txt me saying it
im so thick sometimes
yep fake flowers are very very bad luck i wont go near them at all had a panic attack when i see them
buy your mum a lucky bamboo plant it will get rid of all the bad luck

aww hun!

Once you've cleaned the carpets, put a few fluffy rugs on the bare floors and added your bits Im sure it will be ok.

Id try and get hubbys Uncle to sort the bath panels out though and fix the cupboards. I know its easy enough to do but you shouldnt really have to.....its a toughie though being family and demanding things be fixed. Ask him nicely Im sure he'll sort it :D

My house isnt baby friendly at all....the stairs are so narrow and steep you'd be better off absailing down them rather than walking, its quite an old house. For some reason the landlord carpeted the kitchen too?! Needles to say that got burnt in the first week so if they come to look Im going to have to stand over the holes in it LOL

Once you get all your things in there it will look more like home.

Tip for cleaning carpet, use a steamer, you can hire one, no nasty chemicals from cleaning fluid, and the best thing is that all nasty niffs will be blasted away.

I had no carpets when I moved in my house, and a budget, so I hired a sander, sanded all the floors and varnished them, all in all I think I spent about £200 for a 3 bed house, not bad at all!!

Good luck

some great tips there girls thanks
hubbys uncle has told me if i do the flat up and pay for the paint ect whatever i spend he will take off the rent :D
so gives me something to do and saves us some money
(dont worry will wear a mask)
