Hiya girls,

Ok so I’m back and I’m ready to ttc again now.
But I need a little advice...
I reordered the clear blue digital dual ovulation kit as I’ve always used it.
I haven’t used my old reader since last June.
So yesterday I took one test on my old reader -negative. Today I took two tests one on my old reader - Peak and again one on my new - negative.
I’m on cycle day 10. My cycles are only just coming back to being regular after my mmc and they seem to be settling into the normal 27-28 day pattern.

I don’t know which one to trust. My boyfriend and I are unable to do anything about the positive result tonight so I am hoping it’s wrong. I will keep testing on my new reader to see if it changes but I’m very confused.

Anyone had this? Can old readers stop being accurate? I always bought new test strips and used the same reader to get pregnant last time so didn’t think twice about doing the same this time but maybe it is less accurate after a long time of no use

Was it the first time you had used the new reader? You know the first try of each month is negative to set the baseline don't you? Have you got any cheapies u can use to test? It seems odd to get a neg and a peak. I wd dtd asap just in case, and then every other day if u are not sure.

It was the first time, I thought that might be the case but wasn’t 100% it would set a baseline. I guess I’ll just see what it says tomorrow and try convince my bf to dtd!

The first one of a new cycle is always negative as it’s the baseline. I’d cover my bases but probably go by the new one from future cycles because it’s newer so *should* be more accurate.

Also I once had a new one that didn't work. It didn't register the test. So I think if it was too old it just wouldn't work at all rather than give a false result.

So I tried my new one again this morning which gave a high reading- not peak.
Which seems more reasonable than going straight to peak.
Hoping it’s more accurate as couldn’t dtd yesterday.

I was thinking the same. I bought this kit and run out of tests but was wondering do I buy the full kit again or just the tests for my next cycle? Also where do I buy just the tests from ladies? X

I think if you use the old one straight away you will be fine. Mine was left for around 7 months.

I didnt use it last cycle but the one before should that still be okay?
Can I ask where you got the refill tests please? X

It will be fine to use. From memory it’s cheaper to buy the new kits so that’s what I did. Threw the new reader away.

As far as I know you can't buy just the tests. The testing thing lasts for multiple cycles so it's best to buy as many tests as part of a kit as possible.
