My mum is babysitting on Sunday night so my OH and I can go out for dinner. How much expressed milk would you reccommend I leave per feed? I did an online calculator and it said 3oz :eh:

Vince would take up to 7 oz per feed. 3 might be a bit on the stingy side for a hungry big boy!

Thats what I thought!

Should ! take 20 for one evening? I'll be putting him to bed so it'll be incase he wakes up

I dont work in oz either, i would leave 150/200 ml per feed

I express each feed. The hospital gave me a formula to work out how much she should have each feed. I have forgotten how to work it out now but its something like

150 x baby's weight (in g) and then divide that by the number of feeds baby has per day.

Apparently if Ella was a hungry baby I should swap the 150 for 180.

I'm not sure if that helps at all!!!
Xxxx

I've been wondering about this too for when I first leave Dylan for a few hrs - I worked out 3oz too but it doesn't seem much......

Tyler is just a little older than Chloe I think?

Chloe takes 6oz every 2 - 2.5 hours. 6oz may be a little overwhelming for Tyler as he's ebf but better to have more than not enough.

Oh just thought, does this mean he's mastered the art of a bottle now?

Nope! Lol!

My mums instant she'll get him to take one so I'm putting her to the test. I'll only be down the road if she needs me.

Hmm all his frozen milk is in oz. Better go do some maths!

Issac takes 7-8oz per feed. U could have a couple of small bottles say 4-5oz and then top up if needed with extra if he finishes that, how often Does he feed on the evening after he has gone to bed? X

Oh bless, you never know he may take a bottle if he knows you're not there and can't have booby lol

Hope you have a lovely evevning it will do you the world of good.

The calculator I used said 3oz per feed, but first couple of times I left G she took 6!! She's now settled at nearer 4. So maybe extra incase he decides to comfort feed. Xxx

GRRRRRR we tried him again he was pushing it away and cried!
I remember loads of times when V was a nightmare to feed, you had to use all your ingenuity to feed him, have you tried walking about and distracting him while trying to feed? Also, I don't think they like milk flowing from the very start, maybe you could try with an 'empty' teat first? Just some ideas, you've probably tried lots of things anyway

Theo is a big boy and at a push I can get 5 oz in him but more often he takes 4oz of expressed milk in bottle x
