The midwife I saw yesterday (34 week appointment) palpated my abdomen to check the baby's position. Good news being, bubs is head down. The midwife I saw three weeks ago also did this but was gentle and kinda rocked and pressed lightly. Yesterday I came away feeling really quite sore and the pain (which was like a stitch) carried on for a good forty minutes after I got home. She really dug in (with her fingers like crab pinchers at one point squeezing at the top of my ladygarden!) I didn't like it. I know rationally that they know what they are doing but poor bubs stopped moving for a while too, I think he/she was stunned
So, is it meant to be so sore?
Everything else was fine. I dunno, the palpating part just kinda ruined it for me. I've come to look forward to my appointments because they have been a way to mark the pregnancy but I'm not looking forward to going back in a fortnight if it's going to be like that again. Ha, what a wimp. How's she going to cope in labour? I hear you ask
